We’re looking for a confident and collaborative Senior Data Analyst to join our growing Data team, sitting at the heart of our Finance function. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in shaping business decisions by delivering timely, accurate and meaningful analysis that supports financial performance and strategic direction. You’ll be empowered to explore, challenge and influence, ensuring data becomes a true driver of value across the organisation.
At E.ON Next, we embrace a fast-paced, start-up mindset where curiosity, ownership and impact are celebrated. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys uncovering insights, solving complex problems and translating data into compelling stories while supporting the Finance function to operate smarter, faster and more sustainably.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:
Partnering closely with stakeholders across the business particularly within Finance, using a consultative and empathetic approach to understand needs and shape the best analytical solutions
Acting as a trusted data expert, confidently identifying available data and applying the most appropriate techniques, from Tableau dashboards to segmentation and root cause analysis
Creating impactful insights that support financial decision-making, helping the organisation become increasingly data-driven
Communicating findings through clear, engaging storytelling and visualisation, influencing senior stakeholders with actionable recommendations
Taking ownership of complex analytical projects, ensuring high-quality, right-first-time delivery within agreed timelines
Supporting the ongoing optimisation of Finance data tools and platforms, while contributing to the successful implementation of new solutions
Championing best practice, innovation and continuous improvement within the Finance data landscape
Embracing a hands-on, proactive approach and comfortable switching between strategic thinking and detailed execution
Are we the perfect match?
Proven experience as a Senior Data Analyst (typically 4+ years), ideally within a finance-focused or data-rich environment such as energy retail experience
Strong problem-solving mindset with natural curiosity and a passion for uncovering insights
Advanced SQL and Python skills, with confidence in handling complex datasets
Experience working within financial services or closely aligned to Finance functions
Strong expertise in data visualisation tools, ideally Tableau
Experience working with cloud-based platforms (e.g. Databricks) to build and manage data pipelines
Familiarity with Git (or similar), using branching and pull requests for collaborative development
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical audiences
A collaborative, supportive team player who values open communication and shared success
It would be great if you had:
A genuine passion for using data to make a meaningful difference, particularly within Finance
Experience in the energy or utilities sector
Enthusiasm for being part of a scaling, growth-focused environment
A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as statistics, mathematics or a related discipline
