JOB DESCRIPTION
The Cyber Security Advisor will evaluate the security of network-connectable devices, products either consumer or commercial. This will include the analysis of product conception, design, development, and implementation to facilitate cybersecurity compliance for customers from a technical and business perspective.
The Cyber Security Advisor will provide technical personalized guidance and offer business and strategic support within various connected technology domains, including Industrial OT/IIoT and IoT. This includes applying security frameworks, testing protocols, and industry-standard certifications across diverse ecosystems, such as Smart Homes, Smart Buildings, Smart Healthcare, Smart Mobility/Automotive, Smart Cities, Smart Manufacturing (Industry 4.0), Factory Automation, and Autonomous Systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The ideal candidate shall possess an understanding of embedded/network-connectable devices and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Shall be able to collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams to offer personalized technical guidance for enhancing IoT cybersecurity posture and achieve compliance to appropriate Standards. Consideration of project planning, training, assessment, documentation, and implementation is necessary.
  • Support the Project Management team on defining scope of deliverables, resource requirements, and managing customer expectations, ensuring quality and timely project delivery.
  • Pro-actively identifies relevant industry trends and drive knowledge / expertise development in this domain, by coaching colleagues and taking ownership of activities to increase customer awareness of UL (including papers, articles, conference attendance).
  • Traveling as required in order provide the best service to customers.
  • Familiarity with software penetration testing, OWASP, CVE/CVSS, vulnerability management.
  • Proficient in formal report writing adhering to customer and certification scheme specifications.
  • Maintain/improve technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, obtaining applicable certifications, and participating in professional societies and cross-departmental task forces.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to quickly adapt to various technical and organizational environments.
  • Comprehension of IoT security principles, including the unique challenges and vulnerabilities associated with connected devices and systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry best practices and frameworks commonly applied to IoT, such as ETSI EN 303 645, EN 18031, IEC 62443, NIST IR 8425, NIST IR 8259, GSMA IoT Security Guidelines, etc.
  • Have proven experience in customer facing advisory services (project and delivery), expertise and in-depth knowledge of product testing and certification methodologies.
  • Have a major competency in one cybersecurity domain (Risk Management, Asset Security, Network Security, Identity & Access Management etc.) and have minor competencies in other cybersecurity solutions.
  • Familiarity with IoT protocols, communication technologies and IoT specific vulnerabilities.
  • Be resilient and have collaborative profile, being able to coach other team members, share knowledge and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Have a proven history of responsibility, accuracy, and attention to details.
  • Understands the importance of addressing customer needs.
  • Detailed knowledge of industry issues, needs, and problems.
  • Be able to travel internationally.
