Senior CRM Manager – SumUp Pay

About the team

SumUp is building a full-featured personal account for consumers across Europe - making it easy to spend globally, manage money, and get rewarded for everyday spending.

This is the first dedicated CRM hire for the Consumer team – a rare opportunity to build lifecycle strategy from scratch and own how we communicate with customers across every stage of their journey, from first install through to long-term habit.

High ownership, high impact, with real scope to shape how SumUp Pay talks to its customers for years to come.

What you'll do

  • Own the customer lifecycle strategy to enhance engagement and retention with a relentless focus on the moments that drive growth
  • Develop and launch multi channel (Email, Push, In-App, WhatsApp) campaigns by forming hypotheses. Taking a test-and-learn approach and move fast – this is not a set-and-forget role
  • Proactively monitor product usage to identify friction points and translate them into CRM strategies and/or product improvement recommendations
  • Define and manage user segments, run A/B tests, and continuously iterate on activation, engagement, and retention across six European markets
  • Partner with the Go to Market (GTM) team to align messaging, timing, and targeting with broader SumUp growth initiatives

You'll be great for this role if you…

  • Have hands-on, end to end ownership of customer lifecycle campaigns and strategy within a high-growth consumer product – fintech or neobank experience a strong plus
  • Think in funnels, cohorts, and activation/engagement rates – not just open rates and click-throughs
  • Are comfortable with leveraging event-driven architecture to design real-time, automated customer journeys that respond instantly to behaviours and lifecycle triggers
  • Acts as a strategic liaison between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex business requirements into actionable CRM campaigns and measurable results
  • Have built from scratch before – you're energised by the absence of a playbook, not slowed down by it
  • Are hands-on enough to unblock yourself: you can read event schemas, navigate a data model, and work alongside engineers as a peer
