We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join our Lending team here at Hastings Direct.

The ideal candidate will have an analytical background, excellent written and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling vast and multiple data sources. You will also have a strong initiative in identifying areas of potential improvement as well as strong SAS or SQL skills (programming experience such as R or Python can compensate for lack of these skills)

We’re flexible on location, this can be based fully remote at home or in any of our offices in Bexhill, Leicester or London - Cannon Street. 

About the role

You’ll be joining at a very exciting time of growth, working in the Credit Risk team within the lending business. This is a hands-on role where you will be using multiple data sources and analytical tools to develop and optimise credit risk management strategies for long term profitability.

What You’ll be doing:

• Develop, monitor and optimise acquisition, account management and collection strategies to drive commercial results whilst preserving customer outcomes, regulatory compliance and reputational integrity

• Maintain a robust management information suite, which facilitates effective performance monitoring and identifies threats and opportunities to optimise risk strategies

• Provide analysis and inputs for Trading, Committees, Regulatory reporting and other ad-hoc management requests

• Support development of new personal lending products and propositions, with a focus on the development of suitable credit risk strategies

• Ensure that you are meeting customers’ fair and reasonable expectations and provide fair outcomes. Question and challenge peers and managers where processes and procedures do not meet these expectations and any activity that does not place customers’ interests at the heart of how we do business
