lOCATION: Coventry, West Midlands

WORKING PATTERN: Mon - Fri (37.5 hours), Eligible for virtual working / flexible working

reports to: Senior Manager, Accounts Receivable

Role Summary:

You will have responsibility for day-to-day account management of Key Accounts within the EMEA Credit Control Team. You will ensure proactive collection of cash in a timely manner, management of aged debt and unallocated cash, whilst limiting the company’s exposure to bad debt. You will also assist the Credit Control Team Leader by supporting the Credit Control team with Ledger queries and system/process training. Your focus will be on safeguarding cash flow, strengthening key client relationships, and ensuring internal credit policies are rigorously maintained.

What You’ll Do:

  • You will look after Key Level Accounts for the EMEA Business, such as *Carrefour Group, FNAC, Gamestop,  Juguettos Central Group, Mueller/Smyths and others as set out by the Senior Manager – Accounts Receivable
    • Ensure timely payments from customers by proactively engaging and building relationships
    • Issue weekly/monthly statements and copy invoices to customers as required
    • Resolve invoice queries promptly by liaising with internal departments and customers
    • Complete daily allocation of payments in line with SOX requirements
    • Allocate credits where applicable
    • Reconcile EMEA customer ledgers as required, working on legacy debt reduction
    • Chase overdue debt and minimise rollover of debt past 30 days
    • Ensuring cashflow is recorded on a daily basis via the use of the PB or Promise Board
    • Manage release of orders to balancing credit risk vs supporting business growth
    • Ensuring dilutions are dealt with in a timely manner and in line with SOX requirements
    • Upload of EDI (where applicable) and working on continuous improvements of EDI with relevant internal department and the Customer
    • Cover for colleagues during absences and holidays
    • Ad hoc work as required by the Senior Manager – Accounts Receivable / Credit Control Team Leader.
    • Support the Senior Manager – Accounts Receivable by:
      • Setting regular meetings with all areas of Sales and Customer Services, to ensure Best Practice is driven across all the Key Account areas. As well as supporting Team members to do the same.
      • Highlighting any financial concerns or issues to the Senior Manager – Accounts Receivable immediately
      • Support Credit Controllers with reconciliation work and any complex debt resolution
      • Support team training and refresher training as required
      • Support the Senior Manager – Accounts Receivable / Credit Control Team Leader with internal and external audit requirements
      • Support the Team with SOX control and approval processes to ensure Team compliance
      • Production of required reconciliation work on legacy debt for audit purposes
      • Continue to drive efficiencies and improvements within the Key Account Areas

 

What You’ll Bring:

    • Ability to build and develop excellent working relationships with both your internal and external customers
    • Experience of working in a fast-paced Credit Control team, ideally within an FMCG growth business
    • Target driven mentality
    • Can-do attitude, open to change and new ways/approaches of working
    • A highly organised and proactive approach to work
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent IT skills including intermediate Excel, formula’s, Vlookups, Pivot tables etc
    • Experience of an EMEA multicurrency ledger
    • European language skills (would be an advantage)
