Senior Creative Technologist (Contract Role)

We are HF. We combine art, technology and science to produce highly innovative, connected solutions and engaging content for retail, brands, and agencies. HF is part of a global group with offices in Portland/Oregon, Milan and Verona. Our UK office is based just off Old Street in the heart of London’s creative tech community. 

ROLE SUMMARY

As a Senior Creative Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing project requirements, and leading technical and architectural solutions. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to qualify and transform ideas into reality, ensuring the successful delivery of applications and solutions while maintaining high-quality standards and technical excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication 

• Confidently engage with stakeholders, manage expectations, and participate in technical discussions.

Hands-on Development

• Actively contribute to the development process by writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Optimise performance and scalability across applications, ensuring high efficiency.
• Integrate various technologies, APIs, and third-party services to enhance functionality and user experience.

Proof of Concept Development

• Bring client and internal ideas to life by overseeing the creation of Proofs of Concept, ensuring alignment with overall goals.

Architectural Solution Design

• Play a key role in defining the architecture of applications, from ideation to documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with best practices.

Technical Documentation

• Lead the creation of comprehensive documentation, ensuring clarity and usability for all team members and stakeholders.

Codebase Analysis and Troubleshooting

• Analyse and resolve issues in codebases, providing innovative and effective solutions.
• Team Collaboration and Coordination
• Work with designers, UX experts, business analysts, and project managers to navigate technical challenges and refine project ambitions. Inform teams when technical difficulties arise and propose alternative approaches when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Communication Excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• 'Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of application architecture and development across a variety of different software, with the ability to sodutionise technical challenges.
• Leadership Abilities: Proven experience leading and managing complex projects.
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyse requirements, troubleshoot and propose effective solutions.
• Documentation Skills: Experience in creating detailed technical documentation and project breakdowns.

• Multiple programming languages that complement the wider interactive space, JS, C#, Python, C++ etc.
• Be proficient in web-based technologies and frameworks.
• Engaging in the latest Al technologies and custom workflows.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
