Who we are:

Burson is the global communications leader built to create value for clients through reputation. With highly specialized teams, industry-leading technologies and breakthrough creative, we help brands and businesses redefine reputation as a competitive advantage so they can lead today and into the future. When you work at Burson, you are part of a global community of lifelong learners who thrive at the edge of innovation.

More about the team:

We believe today's economic, social and political headwinds are stronger than ever, and we need better agility, greater resiliency and more specialised communications strategies to navigate them. The role of our clients has grown more complex, and many of the challenges they manage now overlap and intersect in unprecedented ways.

The creative strategy team is a centre of excellence for strategic planning and creative strategy and is integral to Burson’s ability to combine behavioural science, business and brand problem-solving and real-world application. You will play a key role, as a partner to other Burson specialists, in creating powerful, culturally relevant strategies based on deep human understanding that will shape communications, ideas and experiences that inspire client audiences to think differently, feel deeply and act urgently.

You will have the opportunity to work across but not limited to consumer, corporate reputation, healthcare, sports, entertainment, issues and public affairs clients and new business projects.

What you'll do:

  • Serving as the creative strategy brain power across the agency’s most significant creative opportunities
  • Research: Whether through primary or secondary, knowing what questions and hypotheses will get you to the stickiest insights is crucial. You’ll often partner with our Behavioural Science and Data specialists, so should know how to provide a sharp research brief and/or be able to dive in alongside them and help where needed.
  • Insight development: You’ll learn our process and become a master of it – especially in the realm of insights. You should have experience in writing fresh insights based on research, industry knowledge, human behavior and other stimuli that lead to great work.
  • Ideation: Our Creative Strategists bridge the distance between strategy and creative and are able come up with platforms, campaigns, tactics, messaging as part of their contribution.
  • New Business: You’ll have experience in leading strategies that make for winning pitch proposals.

Experience that contributes to success:

  • Strategic foundations with a heavy creative lean
  • Agile enough to work across several accounts/brands and industries at the same time; from corporate to consumer
  • Persistent and vocal, not afraid to speak up and give a POV
  • Highly collaborative but also okay to fly solo; ability to facilitate and align stakeholders
  • Even if you haven’t worked in PR before you’ll need a nose for earned first thinking and ideas that travel
  • A culture-first thinker with a passion for exploring the world around us and how people, brands and business interact with it
  • Stellar writing and presentation skills to write up an approach, insights, or creative frameworks easily and should be able to present comfortably to senior internal teams as well as clients.
  • Experience and comfort with pitching new business proposals to prospective clients
  • A creative spirit that can be applied to any kind of brief
  • Ability to nurture junior talent

What you need to know about the London Tech Scene

London isn't just a hub for established businesses; it's also a nursery for innovation. Boasting one of the most recognized fintech ecosystems in Europe, attracting billions in investments each year, London's success has made it a go-to destination for startups looking to make their mark. Top U.K. companies like Hoptin, Moneybox and Marshmallow have already made the city their base — yet fintech is just the beginning. From healthtech to renewable energy to cybersecurity and beyond, the city's startups are breaking new ground across a range of industries.
