As we continue our growth globally, we are looking for a Senior Corporate and Consumer Communications Manager to drive our corporate and consumer communications activity to promote the sport and the brand globally.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver global corporate and consumer coverage that tells the F1 story to a broad media audience through:
    • Developing and implementing global consumer/lifestyle and corporate communications strategies.
    • Telling our natural news stories, including our ESG and DE&I efforts, as well as partnership, licensing, media rights and race promotion activity in a compelling and engaging way.
    • Managing F1’s global PR activity both through the team, F1’s global PR agency, VCCP and smaller agencies in China and India, as well as the promoters in each market.
    • Proactively developing excellent relationships both around the business, with external stakeholders and with the media.
    • Building campaigns that showcase the business’s key priorities over time and creating a drumbeat of news.
    • Story-mining around the business to develop new ideas and angles.
    • Rigorous forward planning and production of comms plans, materials and assets well in advance of announcement.
    • Proactively building and maintaining strong relationships both
    • Managing the team to deliver all activity to the highest standards and to deadline.
    • Operating as a key press office team member at a number of races.
  • Supporting the Chief Communications and Corporate Relations Officer and Communications Lead in crisis management.
  • Supporting the Communications Lead with day-to-day activity and deputising in their absence.
  • Supporting the broader comms team to deliver activity at races.
  • Working across the business, with our teams, promoters, and global partners to ensure that we are capturing and telling stories from across the F1 community.
  • Drafting, proofing, and issuing communications materials including press releases, media briefings, journalist information packs and content for F1’s corporate social channels and website.
  • Working with the other communications channels (F1.com, social media, F1 TV) to lead and coordinate activity.
  • Working as a senior member of the F1 comms team acting as a trusted advisor across the business.
  • Working alongside the Senior Motorsport Communications Manager to coordinate and deliver plans.

About You

  • Extensive experience working in an in-house communications team or PR agency for large and well-known brands with a 24/7 culture, with responsibility for developing and delivering corporate, consumer and international strategies and activity.
  • A proven track record of delivering coverage within global consumer and corporate media.
  • Experienced in handling crisis situations.
  • People management experience.
  • Agency management experience preferred.
  • Thoroughly experienced at working with social media.
  • Be able to think both strategically and creatively.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the global news agenda.
  • Be prepared to work outside office hours, both during a normal working week and at races.
  • Be flexible and solutions focused.
  • Write, edit, and proofread impeccably.
  • Have excellent verbal skills and be able to persuade and influence with gravitas.
  • Have good interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidently advise senior executives.
  • Ideally speak two or more languages.
