COPY CREATION & LOCALISATION

We are a diverse, dynamic, global team of content creators, dedicated to communicating the FARFETCH message to our customers. From copy and imagery to size & fit solutions and localisation, the Content Development umbrella manages end-to-end content and asset creation, creating a unique luxury experience, found only on FARFETCH.


LONDON

Our London office is located in Old Street, London's tech hub, and is home to a broad range of teams including Commercial, Marketing, and Product. Our open plan space is ideal for collaborative working and sharing ideas, or you can enjoy some quiet time in our dedicated library. We also have a large outdoor terrace which is the perfect spot to have a team lunch or host events.


THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Localisation Lead for Arabic, you will be responsible for transcreating and localising various content types, including Product Descriptions, Operational copy and UX. You will ensure that our copy is customer-centric, effective and

tailored across all FARFETCH channels, while capturing and protecting the FARFETCH tone of voice.

Proven experience writing and transcreating content is important, as is having a sound understanding of the luxury e-commerce landscape in the Middle East region. To succeed in this role, you must have an extensive experience and knowledge of the Arabic language. You’ll benefit from working with a large multi-lingual team of around 120+ employees within FARFETCH, which will present unique opportunities to interact with various departments and learn cutting-edge localisation tools and solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will be transcreating and localising various content including but not limited to product descriptions, UX and operational content (materials, compositions, disclaimers, size and fit information);
  • You will be an expert on particular fashion brands, categories, and products;
  • You will work closely with other team members to ensure our product imagery, topics and editorial guidelines are followed;
  • You will track and correct defects in product descriptions and other localised content;
  • You will be responsible for ensuring all copy follows our Tone of Voice and Style Guide across all channels and reaches the Quality standard;
  • You will oversee the terminology management in our CAT tool, as well as support the data configuration in our NMT and MTQP tools;
  • You will work closely with other content creators to bring new ideas to optimise content as well as identify areas to improve;
  • You will establish routines and standards for the team, including reporting, feedback and other quality checks.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You are highly proficient in Arabic writing, and have an excellent level of fluency in English;
  • You have a firm understanding of tone of voice, with an ability to adapt style to suit specific context;
  • You have a great writing and transcreating style that is accurate and adaptable, with an impeccable use of grammar, syntax and cultural references;
  • You enjoy collaborating and working alongside multiple stakeholders;
  • You have good knowledge of the luxury fashion e-commerce landscape in the Middle East region, its players and consumers;
  • You are experienced in using CAT tools and dealing with Translation Memories;
  • You are comfortable with digital work on in-house CMSs;
  • You thrive in the face of ambiguity and a deadline-driven working environment, embracing unexpected challenges in a calm manner;
  • You are open to receiving constructive feedback and continuously working on improving;
  • Ideally, this would have been within translation, copywriting and editorial roles;
  • Linguistics graduates with a passion for moving their career into fashion will also be considered.
