Overview
We are looking to hire a senior consultant whose role will primarily be focused on supporting our insurer and reinsurer clients with outwards reinsurance transformation projects, as well as helping drive business development and thought leadership on this topic. You will be working in a dedicated, international team of outwards reinsurance experts, working in close collaboration with Synpulse’s Outwards Reinsurance Lead for the UK & Europe, who is based in London. Synpulse’s outwards reinsurance service offering can be found here, which describes the typical engagements we lead on behalf of our clients, who are based in the London Market and internationally. Where system implementation is part of our core service offering, your role will likely involve working in collaboration with Synpulse’s ecosystem partners.
Key Responsibilities
  • You will play a pivotal role in the growth of our outwards reinsurance practice through thought leadership, knowledge sharing and upskilling the wider team.
  • Support in delivering outwards reinsurance transformation projects for leading global reinsurance clients. This may include capturing requirements, designing to-be processes, facilitating workshops, data analysis and reconciliation, liaising between client and vendor, supporting PM/PMO with project management, communication and governance, training clients on a new system, and other responsibilities as required.
  • Maintain a good overview of the market for outwards reinsurance systems and develop in depth knowledge of how to use specific partner systems, including understanding the underlying data model.
  • Contribute to outwards reinsurance business development and thought leadership. This may involve organising or attending a market event, conducting research, writing a whitepaper, preparing proposals, helping manage the pipeline/specific accounts or other activities depending on both Synpulse’s business needs and what you are most interested in being involved in.

Job requirements
  • Proven professional work experience in a consulting, reinsurance industry, or reinsurance technology vendor role, with a good understanding of reinsurance and the London Market.
  • Experience in the outwards (ceded) reinsurance space, in either a transformation or operational role.
  • Numerate and comfortable being exposed to data and technology concepts.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-starter who is adaptable and eager to learn.
  • You value a collaborative and professional feedback culture, placing emphasis on developing relationships within the Synpulse community and externally with our clients and partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.

Why us:
  • A unique opportunity to shape the UK office through participating in internal initiatives (CSR, DE&I, recruitment, marketing).
