Job Purpose

The Senior Compliance Manager will play a key leadership role within the Risk & Compliance function, supporting the Director of Risk & Compliance in overseeing the day-to-day operation of compliance across the business.

Regulatory Insight & Horizon Monitoring

  • Monitor regulatory developments across FCA regulation relevant jurisdictions and sectors.
  • Translate regulatory developments into practical advice for the business, helping senior leaders understand potential impacts and required actions.

Compliance Planning & Assurance

  • Lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s compliance plan, ensuring activities are risk-based and aligned to key regulatory priorities.
  • Design and oversee monitoring and assurance activity to provide confidence that compliance controls are operating effectively.

Advisory Support

  • Provide pragmatic compliance advice to stakeholders across the business on regulatory requirements, new initiatives, and emerging risks.
  • Support the review of customer communications and other materials where regulatory oversight is required.

Governance & Reporting

  • Produce regular compliance reporting for senior management, providing clear insight into regulatory risks, compliance activity, and key developments.
  • Maintain key compliance registers and support regulatory reporting where required.

Team Leadership

  • Provide guidance and support to members of the Compliance team.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex compliance matters.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring

  • Strong experience in a compliance, risk, or regulatory role, with a solid understanding of FCA requirements.
  • Exposure to other regulatory regimes or international compliance frameworks (desirable).
  • Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and applying them within a commercial environment.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory developments into clear, practical advice.
  • Experience supporting governance reporting and working with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience within an FCA-regulated environment.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in law, finance, risk, or a related field (desirable).
