About the role

We are seeking a Senior Compliance & Approvals Engineer to manage and ensure the company’s compliance with all regulatory, corporate, and customer requirements related to banned, restricted, and declarable substances (BRDS). In this role, you will oversee the implementation and monitoring of policies, processes, and documentation to ensure compliance across product development, manufacturing, and supplier management. You will also act as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and maintaining up-to-date expertise on global regulatory standards.

  • Ensure compliance with global environmental and substance regulations such as REACH, RoHS, TSCA, Prop 65, and SCIP, while monitoring evolving legislation and industry standards.

  • Develop and maintain processes to identify and control banned, restricted, or declarable substances, while collaborating across teams to integrate compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Partner with suppliers to ensure accurate material declarations, conduct audits, and provide training to improve awareness of regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare compliance reports and declarations (e.g., SCIP submissions, Declaration of Conformity) for regulatory bodies, customers, and stakeholders.

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to non-compliance, proposing proactive solutions to address gaps and ensure adherence to regulations.

  • Stay updated on emerging regulations and recommend improvements to processes to align with industry best practices and legislative changes.

About you
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Chemical, or equivalent), with at least 5 years of experience in electrical/electronic/chemical fields, preferably in an R&D environment.

  • Strong knowledge of global material regulations (e.g., restricted substances lists) and proficiency with compliance tools/software like FMD systems, IMDS, and SCIP database.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process development skills, with experience in supplier management and conducting audits.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in fast-paced environments.

  • Strong communication skills to convey regulatory requirements to diverse audiences, coupled with fluency in English.

  • Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with planning, organizing capabilities, and programming knowledge as a plus.

  • Character of high integrity and a proactive approach to driving compliance initiatives.
