Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic commercial plans tailored to efficiently achieve business objectives in accordance with industry regulations and processes related to public sector bidding.
  • Lead and manage the tendering process, including proposal development, pricing strategy, and risk management, with a strong understanding of public bidding procedures and industry-standard terms such as NEC and FIDIC.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers, ensuring familiarity with agreements pertinent to the Energy Sector, such as NDAs, MOUs, and Consortium Agreements, while maintaining alignment with company goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, legal, technical, and operational teams to ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives that respect public sector procedural requirements.
  • Review and redline contractual terms, ensuring they meet company objectives and industry standards; lead negotiations with customers, working closely with legal teams to address complex issues and ensure compliance.
  • Extract and analyse data from internal systems to generate insights that inform strategic decisions and align with industry protocols.
  • Evaluate and mitigate contractual risks, establishing robust risk management processes that adhere to security classification and compliance standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and customers, acting as a trustworthy and polite advisor, familiar with industry standard procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in commercial management, with a strong preference for familiarity with Government Contracts within the Defence sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating high-value contracts and managing complex commercial operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategic insights and actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., Salesforce, Excel, CPQs) is preferred.

This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance OR UK SC clearance) as part of the hiring process.
