We’re now searching for an amazing Senior Commercial Manager to join our Ads Team in EMEA, based out of London.

The key purpose of this role is to develop and grow Skyscanner’s brand advertising and partnership revenue with a focus on direct-to-client approach, in EMEA.

The role is within a tribe that is developing and building a new area of the Skyscanner business, and you will be a key stakeholder in a GTM plan to help drive and commercialise the product from day one.  Therefore, a creative mind with a strong appetite for new business development and an entrepreneurial mindset is essential.  

You will play a critical role in identifying, pitching and securing brand budgets from an array of travel related clients (excluding airlines as these are managed by the direct team), so proven experience in developing new business and influencing marketers /decision makers is paramount.

As a key member of the commercial team, you will also be charged with professionally representing Skyscanner at external events, which will require occasional international travel.

Core Responsibilities:


  • Work with the commercial team to help shape and deliver Skyscanner’s brand commercial strategy for EMEA, across a new area of developing business
  • Proactively identify and engage with a relevant target list of clients
  • Consult with client’s directly to help solve their marketing challenges using Skyscanner’s new brand awareness concepts/opportunities and convert this into revenue
  • Onboard new clients in a test and learn stage of product development and beyond
  • Establish, nurture and maintain strong client relationships
  • Make recommendations to the team based on client feedback and needs
  • Coordinate with other functional and support areas, including campaign delivery, sales, operations, product development and billing.
  • Contribute to the development, on-going definition of the commercial strategy helping the evolution of our products and commercial propositions.
  • Represent the business at external events.
  • Keep up to date with the current market and competitors


About You - Required Skills/Experience:


  • An excellent understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem in the EMEA region, including brand partnerships and display
  • Experience and proven success in ideating, pitching and securing digital brand budgets directly with clients is essential
  • Ready to leverage an existing book of relevant client contacts
  • Consultative approach to new business development and solution-selling
  • Bias to action and effective at driving results within a complex organisation. You’ve a hunger and desire to succeed.
  • Curious, innovative and creative in your approach
  • Charismatic people person who can talk to anyone; excited to help build something new and share it with the world
  • Fantastic organisational skills, energy, integrity. You don't get overwhelmed easily.
  • Appreciation of an international and technology-oriented business environment.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, tenacious and a cross-function collaborator across multiple disciplines from Product, Ad Ops and Engineering
  • An entrepreneurial spirit that enjoys working in a people-oriented company, which sets high expectations and treats individuals with respect.
  • Experience within the Travel Industry a definite plus but not essential.
