We are seeking a Senior CMS Developer / Architect to redesign and modernise our Contentful architecture. Our current setup includes five disconnected spaces serving multiple languages, market and airline brands, inconsistent content models, no live preview capability, and heavy developer reliance for content updates. This role will consolidate and standardise our CMS into a scalable, central architecture that enables content teams to make autonomous updates, experimentation, and operational efficiency
Key responsibilities Include:
CMS Architecture & Consolidation
- Design and implement a single scalable Contentful space aligned to defined content model and authoring requirements, partnering closely with the content team to shape those requirements and ensure an effective editorial experience.
- Streamline the environment structure to a best-practice model using Production and Preview environments.
- Introduce reusable, reference-based page templates (sections/blocks)
- Define an in life release strategy for a single contentful space whilst maintaining autonomy and resilience afforded by our MicroFrontend Architecture.
Editor Enablement & Workflow
- Implement live preview and “click to Edit”
- Reduce developer dependency for content updates
- Enable editable SEO fields (including meta titles)
- Improve governance and publishing workflows
Integration & Scalability
- Align Contentful with Alto design system components
- Enable CMS support for experimentation (e.g. Kameleoon integration)
- Ensure scalable structure for multi-market and future growth
Outcomes
- Reduction in developer reliance for BAU content changes
- Improved content team autonomy
- Faster publishing and experimentation velocity
- Reduced publishing errors
- Definition of a single, scalable content model that facilitates efficient content management
Required Experience:
- Advanced content modelling expertise
- Experience implementing live preview and environment strategy
- Design system integration experience
- Experience integrating CMS with experimentation platforms
- Strong understanding of headless CMS patterns
- Knowledge of frontend architectures, specifically MicroFrontend Architecture
- Experience implementing content synchronisation
- Experience designing and executing large-scale content and model migrations (Management API / scripting
