We design, build and manage business critical, public facing websites for a wide variety of prestigious, global fund management businesses and provide complex automated fund reporting solutions.

As we grow, we are investing across all teams to build greater strength and depth, and are now looking for an experienced, but hands-on Senior Cloud Platform Engineer. This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious individual looking for rapid career progression in a fast-paced financial technology firm.

The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting critical public-facing web applications, to lead the design, build, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure and supporting services. You will take full ownership of our AWS-based environment - including EKS, EC2, and Lambda - ensuring our systems remain highly available, scalable, secure, and ISO27001 compliant.

You will work closely with our engineering teams, our experienced IT manager, virtual CISO, and the wider business to help transform and maintain existing infrastructure, improving reliability and efficiency, driving high operational standards.

We are looking for a confident, capable communicator who can develop close working partnerships with the key stakeholders in our business and CTOs, heads of infrastructure, and infrastructure teams across a number of our fund management clients.

This role would suit a candidate who is motivated and self-driven, good at planning and project management, and looking to step up in their career. You will report directly to our managing director and play a key role in transforming an industry leading business. So, it’s imperative that you are adept at quickly building a comprehensive strategic and commercial understanding of the wider business.


Requirements

Key responsibilities:

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain AWS resources including EKS, EC2, Lambda, and supporting services
  • Architect, deploy and maintain our AWS infrastructure, VPCs, Kubernetes and RDS Clusters, Network and Application LBs, SGs, ACLs, etc
  • Configure and manage our AWS Organization (roles & policies) and implemented audit control
  • Configure and manage our Route53 DNS hierarchy and reverse proxy rules (NGINX, ELB rules, etc)
  • Optimise infrastructure for performance, reliability, and efficiency
  • Build, maintain, and version infrastructure via IaC – Terraform & SAM (CloudFormation)
  • Maintain and improve system observability, logging and monitoring
  • Troubleshoot incidents and resolve production issues
  • Maintain security and ISO27001 compliance in coordination with the Information Security Team

Required skills:

  • 5+ years of DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Engineering experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS Organizations, Route53, VPCs, EC2, EKS, Fargate, Lambda, AWS Transfer Family
  • Strong understanding of containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker) and networking (IP, routing, gateways, load balancers, reverse proxies)
  • Proficiency in shell Bash and/or Python for automation and scripting
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)
  • Experience with security best practices, monitoring, alerting, and log aggregation systems
  • Experience in vendor management, with commercial awareness and familiarity around pricing models
  • Familiarity with ISO27001 controls and secure DevOps practices

Qualifications (preferably one of the following):

  • AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
