Senior Cloud Engineer
Location: Our offices are in Central London, along with several of our customers. Travel to our customer sites is required, the frequency of which will vary from customer-to-customer. You need to be able to travel onsite to London up to 3 days per week, although onsite requirements will vary week-to-week and customer-to-customer from 0 to 3 days.
Salary: £70,000 - £95,000
Defence/SC Clearance Requirements:
Due to working with a number of government bodies, SC clearance is required for our customer facing teams. You do not need active SC clearance as we will undertake checks upon you joining, but you must be eligible to pass SC clearance. In future, DV clearance may be required, so the ability/willingness to pass DV clearance is advantageous but not essential.
About us
We help major public and private sector organisations scale cloud and AI with speed, control and clarity. Hard-won experience sits behind a values-led business that does the right thing, puts customers first and builds partnerships on trust rather than lock-in.
Our work is practical. We design secure, production-ready foundations that hold up in the real world and deliver lasting value, without the waste that slows most transformations down. And we don't advise from the sidelines. We build, fix and deliver ourselves, with no offshoring, no resource-padding and no compromises.
What you'll do
You'll work closely with our customers' senior stakeholders, leading them through complex cloud transformations and using your expertise to deliver best-in-class cloud platforms, operating models and security models.
Work with a wide range of AWS services to build best-in-class solutions for our customers.
Build cloud resources using Terraform.
Build solutions that mitigate the key security risks of operating in the cloud.
Operate cloud platforms at scale within highly regulated environments.
Work with CI/CD pipelines.
What we're looking for
We're looking for Senior Engineers who have built, tested, packaged, deployed and operated enterprise-scale cloud platforms, and who understand the challenges of running a multi-tenant platform and how SRE principles apply.
What matters most is a strong conceptual grasp of platform and infrastructure engineering. We deliver on AWS, so hands-on AWS experience is highly beneficial, but we're just as happy to hear from strong engineers with an Azure, GCP or multi-cloud background who know the fundamentals and can apply them. Experience building landing zones, in any cloud, is a good signal of that understanding and of the value a centralised platform brings, but it's the underlying concepts we care about, not the label.
Strong hands-on Terraform and automation skills, with a clear view on IaC structure. We like Terraform in part because it's cloud-agnostic.
Deep understanding of platform and infrastructure engineering concepts.
Solid grasp of secure, scalable and resilient architecture, and how to prevent, detect and remediate risks.
Experience across the full build, test, package, deploy and operate lifecycle in a team environment.
Networking, data and identity experience all count in your favour. Depth on AWS specifically is a strong plus.
We also value genuine technical curiosity. The people who do well here build and tinker outside work and bring that same inquisitiveness and growth mindset into the team.
