Role: Senior Clinical Solutions Engineer, Data - Evinova

Location: Field Based UK (Remote)

Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits

Are you ready to be part of the future of healthcare? Can you think big, be bold, and harness the power of digital and AI to tackle longstanding life sciences challenges?  Then Evinova, a new health tech business part of the AstraZeneca Group might be for you! Transform billions of patients’ lives through technology, data, and innovative ways of working. You’re disruptive, decisive, and transformative. Someone excited to use technology to improve patients’ health. We’re building a new Health-tech business – Evinova, a fully-owned subsidiary of AstraZeneca Group.

About the Role

As a Senior Clinical Solutions Engineer, Data, you’ll be the customer-facing clinical data expert on our SaaS Delivery team and a trusted advisor on data requirements, data standards, and technical solutions for connecting with Evinova’s SaaS solutions. You’ll work across clinical trial operational, study design, cost and rate, and feasibility data, leading customer conversations about data requirements and then building and guiding the work that gets customer data into our platform, from source data through validated loads. You’ll also be a subject matter expert across the product suite, supporting post-implementation technical questions and contributing to pre-sales discussions.

You’ll work directly with customers’ clinical operations, data, and IT teams, and with our Product and Engineering teams, to turn customer needs into working solutions. You’ll stay close to products in development and translate their requirements into delivery approaches. Our product space is new, so this role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is energized by emerging technology, and is happy to roll up their sleeves to deliver digital health solutions at scale.

While this is a remote position, the role is customer-facing by design. You will be expected to travel on-site with customers as needed — particularly customer UAT and customer governance — building the relationships and trust that underpin successful delivery.
What You’ll Do

Lead customer data conversations

  • Lead discovery with customers on data requirements, identifying the right datasets, data owners, and cross-functional stakeholders for each data type.
  • Advise customers on data standards and on how their data maps to Evinova’s out-of-the-box offerings.
  • Develop deep expertise in Evinova’s data landscape and in customer data architectures, providing technical oversight during implementation and configuration.
  • Present clearly and confidently to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior customer stakeholders.

Technical implementation

  • Guide customers through collecting source data specifications, preparing datasets, and mapping and transforming data to Evinova standards where needed.
  • Support customer onboarding to ingest sponsor-specific data sources.
  • Build and prepare data deliverables hands-on where needed, and load them into customer environments.
  • Review customer-provided data for quality and completeness, and resolve issues before load.
  • Validate loaded data in customer environments and reconcile it against source.
  • Manage defects and issues through to resolution in partnership with Product and Engineering, and lead root-cause analysis and remediation.
  • Navigate formal change control and environment promotion, coordinating approvals, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Champion change initiatives using change-management best practices, aligning delivery with strategic goals, product releases, and cross-functional needs during complex transitions.
  • Track and communicate implementation progress across customers and internal partners, working independently across multiple engagements and proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

Integrations

  • Oversee end-to-end customer data integration, including gathering requirements, configuring, testing, and maintaining integrations, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
  • Manage configuration as code and coordinate reviews and approvals with Platform and Security partners.
  • Support system-upgrade impact assessments and update integrations after implementation.
  • Ensure data exchange meets applicable data privacy and regulatory requirements

Be the product SME

  • Answer post-implementation technical and data questions and serve as an escalation point for data-related issues.
  • Support pre-sales with technical and data questions, such as feasibility and scoping.
  • Act as a key liaison between customers, internal teams, vendors, and our Product and Engineering teams, and work with Product to shape solutions and feed customer insights back into the roadmap.
  • Establish and document best practices for data exchange, including monitoring and troubleshooting processes, and develop and optimize delivery playbooks, templates, and checklists that make use of Evinova’s automated tools.
  • Train internal teams and customers on data exchange procedures and standards.
  • Keep a commercial mindset, making sure integration and delivery work creates value for customers and for Evinova.

Essential Qualifications
  • Previous demonstrated experience in clinical operations, clinical data management, clinical trial planning, or a related technical field where data informs study decisions.
  • Strong working knowledge of clinical trial data structures, terminologies, and standards, including USDM and CDISC.
  • Hands-on familiarity with clinical trial operational, study design, cost and rate, and feasibility data, ideally including both clinical operational data and cost or finance data.
  • Strong background in the technical implementation of customer-facing data integrations across organizations, ideally for enterprise SaaS customers.
  • Strong working skills with structured data formats and secure file transfer.
  • Comfort with configuration in version control, command-line tools, and basic cloud concepts (for example, AWS).
  • Experience with work-tracking and documentation tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data flows, identify discrepancies, and troubleshoot complex data issues.
  • Ability to manage high-visibility, technical customer engagements, work independently across multiple engagements, and own problems end to end.
  • Executive presence and strong communication, with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Highly organized and solution-oriented, with resilience and adaptability in a fast-moving, newly emerging product space, and a passion for improving healthcare through technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (IT, information management, data science, computer science, life sciences) or equivalent experience

Evinova draws on AstraZeneca’s deep experience developing novel therapeutics, informed by insights from thousands of patients and clinical researchers. Together, we can accelerate the delivery of life-changing medicines, improve the design and delivery of clinical trials for better patient experiences and outcomes, and think more holistically about patient care before, during, and after treatment.  We know that regulators, healthcare professionals, and care teams at clinical trial sites do not want a fragmented approach. They do not want a future where every pharmaceutical company provides its own, different digital solutions. They want solutions that work across the sector, simplify their workload, and benefit patients broadly. By bringing our solutions to the wider healthcare community, we can help build more unified approaches to how we all develop and deploy digital technologies, better serving our teams, physicians, and ultimately patients.  Evinova represents a unique opportunity to deliver meaningful outcomes with digital and AI to serve the wider healthcare community and create new standards for the sector.  Join us on our journey of building a new kind of health tech business to reset expectations of what a bio-pharmaceutical company can be. This means we’re opening new ways to work, pioneering cutting-edge methods, and bringing unexpected teams together. Interested? Come and join our journey.
