About the team

Turo is redefining the car rental experience, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Claims Associate to join us on this journey. The Claims team plays a vital role in supporting Turo’s hosts and guests by managing claims that range from simple to highly complex. The team ensures fairness, accuracy, and operational excellence while protecting Turo’s interests and maintaining trust within our community.

In this pivotal role, you’ll report to the UK Claims Manager and take full ownership of a diverse caseload. You’ll apply your deep claims expertise to investigate incidents, determine coverage, and make confident, data-driven decisions that carry meaningful financial impact for Turo and our hosts.

What you will do
  • Investigate claims with a financial impact on Turo by interpreting policies, determining appropriate investigation methods, and assessing eligibility for Protection.

  • Communicate with customers to gather information, explain protection and procedures, educate hosts, and negotiate effective claim resolutions.

  • Review and manage requests for escalation or reconsideration from other operational teams.

  • Coordinate claim processing with Turo’s third-party administrators (TPAs) and vendors to ensure seamless resolution.

  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for peers, providing support and guidance as needed.

  • Apply sound judgment to waive or make exceptions to process and policy to achieve the right outcome for hosts.

  • Participate in special projects, process improvements, and business initiatives, contributing insights on objectives and KPIs.

  • Attend meetings, huddles, one-on-ones, and training sessions.

Your profile
  • Investigative mindset with strong analytical and reasoning skills to draw logical conclusions.

  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions beyond established guidelines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex situations clearly and concisely.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple claims independently.

  • Skilled in reviewing and evaluating estimates with a strong understanding of collision damage theory.

  • Professional, empathetic communicator with strong customer service orientation.

  • Ability to multitask effectively across multiple systems and tools.

  • Proficiency with macOS, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and related claims management software.

  • Demonstrates Turo’s values through collaboration, ownership, and accountability.

  • 4+ years of experience handling motor claims, preferably within a motor insurance or car rental company.

Bonus if you have
  • Experience with process improvement or KPI-driven operational projects.

  • Prior experience in a global, fast-paced, or marketplace environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree

For this role, the target base salary range in London is £34,000–£42,000 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We encourage you to talk with your recruiter to learn more about the total compensation and benefits available for this role.

Turo highly values having employees working in-office to foster a collaborative work environment and company culture. This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Turists will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
