A Day in the LifeThis position is to act as the Senior Category Manager for EMEA Supply Chain, responsible for managing the end-to-end sourcing process across the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region for Supply Chain categories, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, while supporting global initiatives as needed. The role will define sourcing strategies, lead stakeholder engagement, and drive value creation through cost optimization, risk mitigation, and process improvement.
As a Senior Category Manager for EMEA Supply Chain, you operate independently as a recognized expert, setting strategic direction for EMEA sourcing activities. You influence regional and global supply chain strategies with significant impact on cost, service, and risk. You solve complex, cross-functional challenges requiring conceptual thinking and creative solutions, you engage with senior leadership and external partners to negotiate and align on strategic priorities. And provide guidance and mentorship to peers; leads large-scale initiatives involving cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of long-term sourcing strategies for EMEA Supply Chain categories aligned with global objectives and ensure strategies optimize quality, cost, cycle time, technology adoption, and risk management
  • Own the sourcing lifecycle from market analysis, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and performance management
  • Drive compliance with corporate policies and regional regulations and partner with regional and global business leaders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet operational and strategic goals
  • Influence senior stakeholders and align sourcing strategies with business priorities.
  • Establish and maintain strategic supplier partnerships to ensure continuity, innovation, and competitive advantage and monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks across transportation, warehousing, and distribution
  • Leverage technology and analytics to improve processes and reduce total cost of ownership and support global sourcing initiatives and contribute to enterprise-wide projects impacting supply chain operations

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Mastery of strategic sourcing and supply chain management principles
  • Strong knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and distribution markets in EMEA
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence senior stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent per local regulations) with 10+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 8+ years of experience
  • Expertise in project management and supplier negotiations
