Role Summary

This is a key role within our CASS function, sitting at the intersection of governance, controls and operations. This role would suit someone who wants to move beyond traditional BAU CASS activity and take on broader ownership.

You’ll help ensure our CASS framework is not only compliant, but practical, scalable and continuously improving. That means turning operational activity into clear governance evidence, translating regulatory requirements into effective controls, and using data, automation and AI to strengthen how we manage client assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the CASS risk and control framework, ensuring risks, controls and ownership remain accurate and aligned with how the business operates.
  • Review control effectiveness and help enhance how risks are assessed, monitored and evidenced.
  • Support the migration and modernisation of the CASS control environment, including identifying opportunities to use automation and AI to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead third-party due diligence and oversight across banking and custody relationships, including counterparty and concentration risk.
  • Review and approve client money and custody reconciliations, providing effective challenge around quality, timeliness and evidence.
  • Investigate reconciliation breaks, control failures and CASS breaches, getting to root cause rather than simply resolving the immediate issue.
  • Own remediation tracking and work closely with CASS Operations to put preventative actions in place.
  • Produce meaningful management information and trend analysis on breaches, breaks and control performance for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
  • Use incident and control data to identify systemic issues and feed improvements back into the CASS framework.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring the control environment remains audit-ready throughout the year.
  • Over time, contribute to CASS impact assessments, regulatory change and broader CASS strategy.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of CASS 6 and CASS 7, gained within a UK-regulated financial services environment.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing or approving client money and custody reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of risk, controls and governance, with the ability to challenge whether controls are genuinely effective.
  • An investigative mindset — comfortable getting to the root cause of issues rather than stopping at the symptom.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence using data and MI to identify trends and recurring risks.
  • Clear, structured communication skills, particularly when documenting findings, controls and remediation actions.
  • Comfortable working closely with operational teams while maintaining independent judgement and appropriate challenge.
  • A genuine interest in using AI and automation to modernise controls, reduce manual work and improve the effectiveness of the CASS environment.

Our Hiring Philosophy:

At eToro, AI is changing how we build, work and make decisions, and our hiring approach reflects that. We are building an AI-first organisation where people are encouraged to use AI thoughtfully.

That starts with how we hire. Throughout our recruitment process, we may use AI-enabled tools, including interview notetakers and other technologies that help us capture information accurately, improve consistency and create a better experience for candidates and interviewers. These tools support our feedback and assessment outcomes. Hiring decisions remain grounded in running fair and consistent interview processes, human judgement, critical thinking, and thorough evaluation of experience, ability and motivation that are aligned to our business and role requirements.

We also want candidates to be comfortable working with AI. Depending on the role, we may explore how you use AI tools in your day-to-day work, how you think about their opportunities and limitations, and how you would contribute to eToro’s continued AI build-out.

For us, being AI-first is not about replacing human judgement. It is about combining human expertise, creativity and accountability with technology that helps us do our best work and accelerate our growth. In the end, that's what we're hiring for: human insight, supercharged by AI
