Reporting to our SVP of Strategic Business Development, the Senior Business Development Manager will support new business initiatives within the Strategic Business Development team at BigCommerce. This is a dynamic role responsible for supporting net new commercial opportunities which fulfill BigCommerce's strategic objectives. Example initiatives include reseller opportunities, non-traditional partnerships and product M&A.
What you'll do:

  • Work closely with senior members of the Strategic Business Development team whose objective is to identify and progress net new business opportunities for BigCommerce.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders to progress opportunity evaluation and contracts.
  • Conduct detailed analysis including on total addressable market and ideal customer profile overlaps for potential new business opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with a cross-functional group of colleagues in sales, product, marketing and legal to drive positive business outcomes.
  • Represent BigCommerce at industry and partner events with a goal of identifying new areas of opportunity.


Who You Are

  • 4+ years of relevant post-undergraduate experience within a professional services environment; management consulting, investment banking and corporate finance backgrounds are a plus
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working with independently and as part of a team
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Comfortable working in a diverse global team across time zones
  • Able to work on a hybrid schedule with 1-2 days per week in the office
  • Travel Flexible - Ability to travel domestically or internationally as needed (10-15%)
