About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategically minded individual to join our Underwriting & Portfolio Operations team. This role will support the design, coordination, and execution of high-impact initiatives that shape the strategic direction of our underwriting business. Reporting directly to the SVP, Underwriting and Portfolio, you will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive alignment, solve complex challenges, and enhance strategic execution across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Initiatives & Execution

  • Coordinate and track a diverse set of strategic initiatives across Underwriting & Portfolio - spanning client management, underwriting strategy, data & insights, and performance improvement
  • Bring structure, pace, and clarity to projects, ensuring momentum and alignment across senior stakeholders
  • Create and maintain action plans, timelines, target outcomes and leadership-ready updates
  • Partner closely with the SVP to engage internal teams and external collaborators, acting as a trusted extension of the Underwriting & Portfolio operations team

Problem Solving & Insight Generation

  • Break down complex, sometimes ambiguous business problems into clear components, enabling effective analysis and decision-making
  • Build compelling presentations, briefing packs, and narratives for senior leadership forums (e.g., CUO Group, domain leadership meetings)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional experts to explore root causes, develop hypotheses, test options, and recommend data-informed solutions
  • Translate insights into practical actions that support strategic and operational change

Leadership Engagement & Strategic Planning 

  • Support the design and delivery of the annual cycle of underwriting leadership events such as off-sites, quarterly planning, and strategic alignment sessions
  • Act as a connector across Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Global Services, Data Office and other business units - ensuring information flows and decisions land effectively
  • Help transition major change initiatives into sustainable business practices within Underwriting & Portfolio
  • Bring a positive, energetic, collaborative mindset to a high-performing team that moves fast and enjoys solving problems together

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in a strategic, analytical, ideally within (re)insurance, financial services or consulting in a strategy environment
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • University degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience in supporting planning cycles for large organizations with cross-functional stakeholder engagement
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with underwriting, portfolio management, or enterprise change initiatives is advantageous
