Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Digital Technology team on a 13-month fixed term basis. The Senior Business Analyst plays a key role in shaping and delivering complex digital products and initiatives. You’ll work across product, technology, operations, and external partners to turn ambiguous ideas into clear testable requirements.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading analysis for strategic initiatives (e.g. AI‑powered digital assistants, immersive fan experiences, new platform capabilities).
  • Translating business goals, regulatory constraints and technical realities into pragmatic solutions.
  • Ensuring what we design, build, and deploy is testable, measurable, and aligned to stakeholder expectations.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who is equally comfortable in workshops with senior stakeholders, in the detail of Jira and Confluence, and in structured testing and rollout.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Discovery & Requirements

  • Lead end‑to‑end functional analysis for new features and initiatives, from problem framing through to signed‑off requirements.
  • Facilitate in-person and remote workshops with business, product, technical, legal/compliance, and vendor teams.
  • Produce clear and concise artefacts:
  • Functional Business requirements
  • Process flows and journey maps
  • Functional specifications and non‑functional requirements
  • Assumptions, constraints, risks and dependencies
  • Translate regulatory and policy constraints (e.g. data privacy, rules/regs, governance) into implementable requirements.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Act as a key point of contact between business stakeholders, product, operations, QA, data, and external partners.
  • Present options, trade‑offs and recommendations in a structured, decision‑ready way(documents, decks, and visual boards such as Miro).
  • Manage expectations around scope, ensuring stakeholders are aligned on priorities and outcomes.
  • Support governance forums and steering groups with clear updates and decision logs.

Solution Design & Documentation

  • Partner with product and technical architects to help shape solution options that are technically feasible and commercially sensible.
  • Define and document end‑to‑end flows across multiple systems (e.g. web/app front‑ends, CRM, analytics, content systems, third‑party platforms).
  • Ensure documentation is maintained as a single source of truth (primarily in Confluence, linked to Jira).
  • Identify edge cases and operational scenarios (e.g. cancellations, amendments, offline/limited connectivity) and ensure they are covered in design and requirements.

Testing, Quality & Readiness

  • Collaborate closely with QA on test strategy for new features and releases.
  • Define test conditions and high‑value scenarios, including:
  • Functional and regression scenarios
  • Operational and admin workflows
  • Partner/vendor‑specific journeys
  • Ensure traceability from requirements/user stories through to test cases and defects (e.g. via Jira, Testmo, and related tools).
  • Support UAT, defect triage and sign‑off, ensuring acceptance criteria are clear, realistic, and aligned to stakeholder expectations.
  • Contribute to go‑live readiness planning, including roll‑out approach, comms, and post‑launch monitoring needs.

Continuous Improvement & Ways of Working

  • Help refine BA and delivery practices across the team – templates, standards, and repeatable patterns for documents, test plans, and roadmaps.
  • Promote data‑driven decision‑making: define success metrics, reporting needs, and feedback loops post‑launch.
  • Mentor and support other analysts in the team, sharing best practices and reviewing key artefacts.

What Does Success Look Like?

In this role, success means...

  • Stakeholders have a clear, shared understanding of scope, requirements, and trade‑offs.
  • Delivery teams have the right level of detail at the right time to build and test confidently.
  • New features and initiatives go live with fewer surprises, fewer defects, and clearer measures of success.
  • BA practices and artefacts across the team become more consistent, efficient, and reusable.

What Are We Looking For?

  • Jira (or similar) for backlog and delivery tracking
  • Collaboration tools (e.g. Miro/whiteboarding, shared docs)
  • Experience working alongside QA and test teams, including test planning, scenario definition and UAT support.

Some desirable experience that you may bring to the role:

  • Experience in media, sports, entertainment, or other high‑profile consumer digital products.
  • Exposure to AI/ML‑powered products, chat/agent experiences, or rules/regulations‑heavy domains.
  • Familiarity with privacy, compliance, and governance considerations in digital products(e.g. data protection, consent, third‑party platforms).
  • Experience working with external vendors/partners and managing joint delivery.

Knowledge & Skills

Prior to the role it is essential that you demonstrate:

  • Excellent requirements engineering skills:
  • Comfortable moving from vision and problem statements to detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
