Who We Are

For 25 years, Brand New School has helped brands find their visual voice — transforming design, storytelling, and experience into cultural resonance and commercial impact. Our integrated model unites strategy, creativity, and production to help brands like Meta, Pinterest, Google, Apple, Microsoft, and OpenAI transcend their categories and become benchmarks in culture and commerce.

We’re different by design — built to move seamlessly from idea to impact.

As we expand with a presence in London, we are building a small, senior team to shape the next chapter of Brand New School globally.

Opportunity

We are seeking a full time Senior Brand Designer for our London studio with a strong understanding of brand design and the ability to build clear, scalable brand systems and visual languages.

This is a hands-on role for a designer who cares deeply about craft, clarity, and systems thinking. You will work closely with Design Directors, the ECD, strategists, motion designers, and technologists to translate strategy into distinctive, flexible brand expressions.

You will contribute across multiple projects at once, shaping brand systems that work across static, motion, and digital environments. The role suits someone who is confident, organised, and comfortable pushing work forward independently, while collaborating closely with others.

As part of a small senior team in London, you will play an important role in setting the standard for design quality and how brand work is made, without formal line management responsibilities.

RoleBrand Systems and Craft
  • Design and help evolve brand systems, visual languages, and design frameworks
  • Create brand expressions that extend beyond individual assets into repeatable systems
  • Translate strategy and creative direction into clear, scalable visual outcomes
  • Maintain a high standard of craft, clarity, and consistency across all outputs
  • Be motion-aware in your thinking, designing with movement and adaptability in mind
Delivery and Collaboration
  • Work across multiple projects from brief through delivery, balancing quality, pace, and detail
  • Collaborate closely with Design Directors, ECDs, strategists, motion designers, and technologists
  • Present work clearly and thoughtfully in internal reviews and client sessions
  • Respond to feedback constructively and iterate with purpose
Ways of Working
  • Use and contribute to design systems, templates, and shared tools
  • Work in an organised, proactive way, keeping momentum without heavy oversight
  • Support junior designers through example, feedback, and collaboration
  • Contribute positively to studio culture through curiosity, openness, and care for the work
Experience
  • Experience working in design studios or agencies on brand identities and brand systems
  • Strong background in visual design, with clear attention to detail and craft
  • Familiarity with motion-aware or dynamic brand environments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
  • Organised, proactive, and able to move work forward independently
  • Confident presenting design thinking and visual work to internal teams and clients
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines, including motion, strategy, and technology
Skills
  • Essential: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects)
  • Desirable (not essential): Cinema 4D, Blender, Houdini; Coding (HTML, CSS, JS, P5JS, TouchDesigner); Cavalry; Unity or Unreal; AI Tools (Comfy, Krea, MidJourney, etc)
  • You do not need to be an expert in all tools, but you should be curious, fluent in collaboration, and confident directing across disciplines.
Details
  • Full-time, permanent role at our London studio. UK work authorisation required.
  • Hybrid work schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays in studio. Mondays and Fridays remote.
  • 24 work from home flex days, used to work remotely on in-studio days.
  • 20 days holiday, UK bank holidays, and typically an end of year holiday closure from Christmas to New Year.
  • A competitive salary sacrifice pension scheme.
  • Continued education plan reimbursements.
  • Peer bonus system.
  • Scheduled performance reviews.
  • Dog friendly work environment. 🐶
  • BNS will comply with the employer pension duties in accordance with Part 1 of the Pensions Act 2008.
