ABOUT THE JOB

Gunzilla Games is looking to recruit a talented Senior Biome Artist to create immersive realistic biomes through vegetation assets for our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Extraction Battle Royale shooter, currently available as Early Access on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series X|S, and PC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Senior Biome Artist you will:

  • Creating natural environment biomes using existing assets or making new ones
  • Work actively with designers and concept, Environment & Technical artists to work collaboratively to create outstanding environments that fit the game's style and realism
  • Helping scope work for on-time milestone delivery
  • Taking ownership of Biome content including the creation of landscape materials, foliage assets, and other related resources, materials or assets that enrich the character of biomes.
  • Share knowledge of project tools and their functions
  • Work closely with peers and other departments such as programming to ensure art assets are fully optimized for target platforms while minimizing any impact on artistic integrity
  • Participate in R&D of new techniques to implement into the production pipeline

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of experience as a Biome or Vegetation artist with experience in creating vegetation assets like trees, bushes, and grass in a real-world setting
  • Have worked as a Biome or Vegetation artist on at least 1 Shipped AAA title
  • Strong 3D & 2D art skills with knowledge in 3ds Max, Photoshop, and Substance packages, especially node-based art creation in unreal and substance designer
  • Experience using Zbrush or an equivalent sculpting software
  • Experience with Biome Generation tools, rulesets and ability to shape natural feeling & Diverse environments
  • Creative & artistic eye for Biome composition especially lighting/shading & Materials
  • Possess a good knowledge of PBR workflow and shader techniques
  • A proactive, can-do attitude, with an eagerness to learn new software tools and technologies
  • Ability to work in a team setting, under deadlines and time constraints
  • Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation
