Where And How We Work

At VEED we are hybrid, enabling teams and individuals to design their day and integrate work and life. We require 1 day a week in office for London and Amsterdam-based employees and you have flexibility to decide which day.

About the team

The Core Services team at VEED is responsible for platform development and providing support and enablement for other engineering teams. 

About the roleWhat you will be doing

• Supporting other teams by providing technical assistance and troubleshooting.
• Building services and infrastructure to enable other engineers and speed up development.
• Taking ownership of larger initiatives within the Core Services team.
• Solving technical problems end-to-end, across infrastructure, backend, and frontend.

Our Stack

• TypeScript: We leverage TypeScript extensively for building robust and maintainable applications, both on the frontend and backend.
• PostgreSQL: Our primary database system is PostgreSQL, where we handle complex data structures and ensure data integrity.
• Protobuf: We utilize Protocol Buffers for efficient data serialization and communication between services, ensuring performance and reliability.
• gRPC: For internal communication between services, we use gRPC, enabling high-performance and scalable interactions.
• GraphQL: Our API layer is built with GraphQL, allowing for flexible and efficient data querying by clients.
• Temporal: We use Temporal to compose workflows and link pieces of functionality together. Experience with it is a plus.

About you

• You are proactive and motivated to understand technical challenges.
• You have a TDD-like attitude and prioritize writing comprehensive tests.
• You have a good knowledge of TypeScript and related web technologies.
• You ideally incorporate AI-based tooling into your workflows.
• You are comfortable leading technical projects and collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders.
• You’re an excellent communicator and you’re able to work well in a fully asynchronous manner. 
• You enjoy shipping regularly and having an impact.
