Role profile: 

This role sits within Corporate Affairs and Marketing (CAM), focused on speechwriting and executive communications for senior leaders, primarily the Group CEO.  

You will report to the Head of Executive Communications and Content and sit within that team. You will work closely with senior leaders across the business, the Group CEO Office, and senior colleagues across communications, marketing, digital and regulatory strategy and government relations.   

ROLE SUMMARY: 

• Act as a trusted partner to the Group CEO and CEO Office, crafting high-quality speeches, briefing materials, communications and content for external engagements and strategic moments. 

• Identify proactive thought leadership and speaking opportunities, positioning the Group CEO as an authority on the sector, industry and LSEG’s external environment.  

• Help shape and evolve the Group narrative and positioning across priority themes, ensuring consistency and impact across channels. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: 

• Develop high-quality briefing materials, speeches and other executive communications content for the Group CEO and other senior leaders where required. 

• Working with the Office of the CEO, operate cross functionally across C&M to triage and prioritise all inbound speaker/external engagement requests for the Group CEO 

• Working cross functionally across Corporate Affairs & Marketing, support the development and execution of the Group CEO’s proactive speaker engagement programme 

• Help identify organic speaking and thought leadership opportunities for the Group CEO, and other executives where required 

• Collaborate with content and social teams to amplify Group CEO and executive content 

• Help shape and evolve the Group narrative and positioning on strategic themes. 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING: 

• Ability to work closely with and influence senior leaders. 

• Strong written and research skills, with demonstrable experience working in complex environments and on competing deadlines.  

• Ability to build and leverage a strong personal network in complex organisations. 

• Strong understanding of – and keen interest in – the evolving political, macro-economic and regulatory landscape internationally.  

• Basic understanding of financial markets, the tech and AI industries, and listed businesses. 

• Experience working on multi-disciplinary executive communications programmes – with experience of media relations, paid and organic social, video, policy campaigning and government relations – is desirable but not essential. 

• Speechwriting experience is desirable but not essential. Similarly, experience in client-servicing roles and sectors is desirable but not essential. 

• Proactive mindset, results-driven, and enjoys working in complex and fast-paced environments.
