Lloyd’s are seeking to recruit a Senior Associate – Exposure and Volatility Risk. You will

support the effective operation and continuous enhancement of Lloyd’s financial risk framework through robust oversight, challenge, analysis and reporting, ensuring that material financial risks—particularly catastrophe, exposure and reinsurance credit risk—are appropriately identified, assessed and managed in line with Lloyd’s risk appetite.


Principal Accountabilities

 

  • Contribute to the identification, assessment and monitoring of key financial risks faced by Lloyd’s, with a focus on natural and non‑natural catastrophe risk, exposure management and reinsurance credit risk.

  • Deliver strong and independent risk oversight, challenging first‑line functions on methodologies, assumptions, controls and governance, and recommending improvements where necessary.

  • Support the development and operation of systemic risk frameworks, including the design, execution and analysis of stress & scenario testing across financial risks.

  • Escalate material risks appropriately through the governance framework, ensuring timely and accurate communication of emerging or heightened risk exposures.

  • Lead or contribute to thematic reviews, lessons-learned exercises and validation activities, ensuring findings are robust, evidence-based and implemented in conjunction with relevant Corporation teams.

  • Contribute to regular and ad hoc financial risk reporting, including ORSA submissions, Committee papers and market-wide insights.

  • Respond flexibly and effectively to ad hoc analysis requests and projects, ensuring high‑quality, timely outputs for senior stakeholders and leadership.


Skills Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Actuarial, technical risk management or similar background desirable (qualification beneficial but not essential).

  • Understanding of the Lloyd’s and wider insurance market, including catastrophe risk, reinsurance and exposure management.

  • Experience engaging with and constructively challenging senior stakeholders.

  • Proven experience operating within or alongside risk management frameworks, processes, or oversight functions.

  • Experience contributing to risk reporting, stress & scenario testing, or financial risk analysis is advantageous.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, capable of building strong relationships and influencing senior stakeholders to achieve effective risk outcomes.

  • Effective time and workload management, comfortable delivering high‑quality outputs under pressure and managing competing priorities.

  • Project management capability, ensuring timely delivery of BAU and change projects (e.g., implementation of new processes or frameworks).

  • Progress towards (or interest in) a relevant professional qualification (Actuarial, CFA, CERA, FRM or similar) is desirable but not required.
