We're actively growing our Fund Finance capability — a strategically important and fast-moving part of the business — and we're looking for an Associate Director to be a core part of that growth story, working directly alongside the Director and Managing Director to build out the book.
This role is designed for a driven lending professional with around 6–8 years of experience — someone who has moved beyond pure execution and is now confidently originating transactions, owning client relationships, and thinking like a director. You'll have genuine expertise in fund finance or similarly complex, lender-led credit products, and you'll be ready to step into a role where your contribution is visible, valued, and directly shapes the trajectory of the team.
As an Associate Director in Fund Finance, you will work hand-in-hand with the Director and Managing Director to originate and grow the fund finance book — bringing your own relationships and market knowledge to bear while playing a leading role in structuring, executing, and managing transactions. This is a genuine build opportunity: the team is growing, the ambition is clear, and there is a defined path to Director for the right person.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Originate new fund finance opportunities through your own network and in close collaboration with the Director and Managing Director, taking real ownership of pipeline development
- Lead transactions from mandate through to execution, including structuring, credit analysis, internal approvals, and documentation
- Manage fund manager relationships with confidence and autonomy, acting as a senior point of contact throughout the deal lifecycle
- Play an active role in shaping how the fund finance franchise develops at OakNorth, contributing to strategy alongside senior leadership
- Mentor and develop junior members of the team as the business scales
- Participate in third party meetings where you could potentially contribute to drive the business forward - analysing proposed budgets, capital plans and other investment recommendations
- Work across a multi-disciplinary team to support on closing the funding of deals, including Credit and Transaction Execution
What we're looking for:
- A strong track record in fund finance — ideally with NAV lending experience, alongside capital call facilities, GP financing, or related structures
- The credibility to engage confidently with sophisticated fund managers and the judgement to structure transactions that work for both client and bank
- A proven ability to originate — you bring relationships and ideas, not just execution capability
- A strong existing network within the fund finance market that you're ready to put to work
- Someone motivated by building something, with a genuine appetite for ownership and commercial impact
- A clear sense of direction: you're ready for the step to Director and you want an environment where that path is real
