Team Player

Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with other technical teams including Service Delivery and our Portfolio teams to proactively share knowledge of technical solutions.

  • Create and nurture business relationships with third party partners, Product Owners, and other areas of the business, understanding the impact of technical solutions and desired outcomes.

Daily Role Requirements

This is a hands-on role for a Senior AppOps engineer who wants to be part of a new product driven organisation and influence the development, build and ongoing upkeep of ISG’s Finance Systems including ERP, Jet Reports, Digital CVR and various integrations with other systems.

In this role, you will be a key part of the team ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of our EVision Application, collaborating closely with a talented team of AppOps & DevOps engineers who collectively own the support and enhancement of all core business applications and their supporting platforms.

  • Deputise for the Lead AppOps Engineer (Team Lead) as required to cover absences.

  • Collaborate with Portfolio Strategists, Owners, Architects and Cloud Infrastructure Engineers to deliver industry leading application performance.

  • Work to a high degree of accuracy with good attention to detail, resulting in consistent technical configuration and documentation.

  • Promptly and efficiently resolve issues and problems and ensure they do not reoccur.

  • Develop and maintain robust monitoring solutions tailored specifically to our EVision application, ensuring early detection of issues and anomalies.

  • Contribute to or lead incident response efforts during critical incidents, coordinating with cross-functional teams to restore normal operations swiftly.

  • Champion security best practices within the supported applications, implementing measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Conduct and create regular audits and assessments to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities.

  • Along with the team, assume ownership of the ERP application and related Finance Systems, serving as a point of contact for all support-related activities.

  • Contribute to or lead efforts to diagnose and resolve application-related issues, collaborating closely with DevOps squads to implement effective solutions as well as maintain healthy relationships with our third-party partners.

  • Manage regular updates as per the vendors schedule, reviewing release notes and assessing impact.

  • Analyse existing business processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative solutions to streamline operations.

  • Work in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Break down projects into user stories and tasks, estimating effort and providing regular updates on progress.

  • Share insights and best practices with other AppOps team members.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cloud engineers, project managers, and business analysts, to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Embrace and promote an agile mindset, fostering collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement within the team

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Working experience in similar AppOps roles, with a focus on application support, preferably within ERP applications (Business Central) or similar domains.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving application-related issues, with a deep understanding of application architectures and frameworks.

  • Scripting and automation skills is advantageous, with experience in developing tools and scripts to streamline support processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, coupled with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with other enterprise software systems, such as SmartSource, HR (Workday),

  • Familiarity with integration technologies, APIs, and web services for seamless data exchange between systems.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels and departments, and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and quickly learn innovative technologies and business processes.

  • Experience working in an agile environment, following agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience as an AppOps Engineer or in a similar role, demonstrating the ability to support, improve and implement complex business applications.

  • Experience with agile project management tools such as ServiceNow is a plus.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.

  • Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Azure, for scalable and flexible system architecture.

Qualifications

  • AZ104 - Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, AZ204 - Azure Developer Association desired
