OVERVIEW:

You will become a key member of a cross-functional global team which supports corporate infrastructure and product engineering. Sportradar is focusing heavily on automation, self-service, and high availability services. Therefore, we are searching for a new team member who drives technical excellence vital for our application and infrastructure evolution.

The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for driving forward our ServiceNow implementation programme. The role covers configuration, workflow management, and custom development on the platform, as well as working with business stakeholders to understand requirements and transition them into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

THE CHALLENGE:

  • Help to develop and maintain our ServiceNow environment, becoming the in-house Subject Matter Expert.
  • Identify new integrations and automation opportunities to increase collaboration between enterprise applications using Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and API standards.
  • Assist with documentation of the current environment, ensuring that articles are kept up to date and relevant.
  • Provide mentoring for colleagues through in-role training to help develop skills across the team.
  • Ensure that our services are available and functional according to SLAs by being part of an on-duty team.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Strong platform knowledge: Deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, core modules (ITSM, ITOM, CSM, etc), configuration, and custom app development.
  • Advanced scripting and development skills: Proficiency in JavaScript (Glide scripting), HTML, CSS, AngularJS, and experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Integration and automation experience: Skilled in connecting ServiceNow with other enterprise systems using Flow Designer and IntegrationHub.
  • Process and best practice knowledge: Understanding of ITIL, Agile, and DevOps principles, including CI/CD and automated testing for ServiceNow.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability: Skilled at diagnosing issues, identifying root causes, and translating business needs into effective solutions.
  • Communication and leadership: Able to collaborate across teams, mentor junior developers, and maintain clear documentation and development standards.
  • Relevant certifications: ServiceNow CSA and CAD required; module-specific certifications (ITSM, ITOM, CSM, etc) highly desirable.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Good written and spoken business English.
  • Team player with a positive mindset and a can-do attitude.

OUR OFFER:

  • Be part of a highly motivated, innovative, and dynamic global team.
  • Hybrid work environment with flexibility.
  • Continuous learning and certification support for ServiceNow and related technologies.
  • Work with state-of-the-art tools and frameworks.
  • Inclusive and collaborative culture with regular team activities.
  • Opportunities for career growth and personal development.

We do not expect you to have knowledge of all these technologies, but hope you want to learn!

It is important what competence you have, but just as important is who you are as a person. At Sportradar, you want to work in teams, so it is important that you have good collaboration skills and want to be a team player. You are eager and take a stand, and have no problem taking the initiative if you see that something can be done differently or made more efficient. You are hungry to learn and have a positive attitude. Do you recognize yourself in this? Then we want to get to know you better!

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  • Initial Screening: A quick chat with our Talent Acquisition Partner to understand your background and expectations.

  • Two Technical Interviews: Meet with the Technical team and later with the Hiring Manager to dive into your solution, as also discuss team fit.

  • Onsite Interview (If not organized on prior interview stages): Meet with the local team and take a tour of our office for a final meet-and-greet.

  • Finals Steps: Receive feedback and, if successful, an offer!
