Role overview


Given our exciting and progressive growth plans, we are looking for an exceptional Senior Analytics Engineer to come and join our global business.


Reporting to the VP Analytics, and working collaboratively with Product Managers, Engineers, Analysts and Commercial leadership, you will be accountable for modeling data to provide clean, accurate datasets to empower internal and external stakeholders with reliable data. This entails transforming, testing, and validating data from a wide variety of sources to create a comprehensive view of Fresha.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop, test, and maintain robust dimensional data models from diverse data sources, including first-party data, data from third-party APIs, SFTPs, and other external data sources
  • Enhance the efficiency and performance of data models, focusing on improving ease of use, increasing accessibility of data, reducing runtimes, and eliminating waste
  • Establish and maintain ELT pipelines for our Snowflake Data Warehouse, adhering to the best practices in data integration, management, and governance
  • Advise product development on analytical requirements with new feature releases, and ensure data warehouse incorporates development changes from new feature releases effectively
  • Coach other engineers and analysts to get the most from our data models and build dependencies in the optimal way
  • Use your knowledge of Fresha's product and data models to analyse the performance of features and support product operations - through analytical queries and dashboards
  • Develop comprehensive data documentation to maintain consistency in understanding and communication across the team.

Skills, experience & qualifications required:

  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and a firm understanding of data modeling concepts
  • Deep familiarity with mature dbt projects across the full lifecycle of development and deployment
  • Understanding of data warehousing systems, cost drivers, configurations, security and best practices
  • Exposure to or familiarity with streaming and batch data ingestion systems
  • Demonstrable experience in improving the performance, efficiency and usability of data models
  • Experience translating business requirements from non-technical data users and downstream analytical teams into data pipelines 
  • Enjoyment in collaborating broadly with a range of different people and abilities, including coaching more junior engineers in their practices
  • A desire to contribute to product development decisions through data architecture best practices and analytical insights
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and autonomous approach to work

Bonus points:

  • Familiarity with the following systems: Fivetran, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt and Periscope Data
  • Experience in writing ELT pipelines with SQL and Python
  • Experience working in fast-paced companies
