About Juniper Square

Our mission is to unlock the full potential of private markets. Privately owned assets like commercial real estate, private equity, and venture capital make up half of our financial ecosystem yet remain inaccessible to most people. We are digitizing these markets, and as a result, bringing efficiency, transparency, and access to one of the most productive corners of our financial ecosystem. If you care about making the world a better place by making markets work better through technology – all while contributing as a member of a values-driven organization – we want to hear from you.

Juniper Square offers employees a variety of ways to work, ranging from a fully remote experience to working full-time in one of our physical offices. We invest heavily in digital-first operations, allowing our teams to collaborate effectively across 27 U.S. states, 2 Canadian Provinces, India, Luxembourg, and England. We also have physical offices in San Francisco, New York City, Mumbai and Bangalore for employees who prefer to work in an office some or all of the time.

About your role

Juniper Square is looking for an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to execute the technical development of our data offerings. In this individual contributor role, you will be responsible for developing and refining the Insights product’s data model and visualizations.

While this role is not customer-facing, it is highly collaborative. You will act as the technical engine behind our Data Product Services team, partnering closely with our North America-based Data Product Services team to translate customer business requirements into technical specifications. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders across Engineering and Product to leverage data tools that increase operational efficiency and drive our Insights product forward.

What you’ll do
  • Develop and maintain the backend data model (LookML) and frontend visualizations to support our best-in-class intelligence product.

  • Collaborate with Data Product Services Managers to digest customer requirements and convert them into functional dashboards, reports, and data structures.

  • Formulate and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and testing to support high-priority use cases.

  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and system performance by rigorously testing new builds before they reach the client.

  • Recommend improvements to our internal development workflows and product features based on your hands-on experience with the data.

  • Build deep expertise in Juniper Square’s proprietary software and the "Insights" data model, while staying current with evolving BI technologies.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a data-focused role (e.g., Analytics Engineer, BI Developer, Data Analyst, or Data Scientist).

  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL is required. You must be comfortable writing complex queries, performing performance tuning, and understanding data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema). Bonus for experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis and/or automation.

  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one enterprise BI platform (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.). We use Looker, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has strong experience in other platforms.

  • Familiarity with modern data warehousing concepts and cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift). Bonus for experience with data transformation tools (e.g., dbt).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to articulate complex technical concepts to internal non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with remote teams in North America.

  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into well-defined analytical problems and deliver actionable code-based solutions.

  • A proactive, independent individual who is comfortable navigating a dynamic, fast-paced environment and managing multiple ticket-based projects simultaneously.

  • Industry experience in Private Markets (Real Estate, PE/VC), Finance, or Fund Administration would be a plus.

  • Systems experience with G-Suite, Jira, Confluence, and Zendesk would be a plus.
