Senior Analyst - Resilience Risk Management
The Senior Analyst will report directly to the Director of Resilience Risk Management (RRM) and will play a leading role in driving the delivery of Operational Resilience (OpRes) outcomes across Digital Securities and Markets (DSM). As part of the first line of defence, RRM holds the responsibility for resilience risk, partnering closely with the Accountable Executives (AE) and Business Service Managers (BSM) across each product line to identify, assess, and remediate risks while ensuring full Regulatory compliance.
In this role, the Senior Analyst will take end‑to‑end ownership of key resilience activities and programmes, ensuring the effective delivery, oversight, and governance of all RRM initiatives and BAU resilience responsibilities. They will be accountable for ensuring the organisation meets all resilience requirements under current and emerging regulation including the UK’s PS21/3 and the EU’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). The role spans multiple resilience dimensions (technology, data, cyber, people, property, and third‑party suppliers), making strong technical insight and a deep understanding of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation essential. The Senior Analyst will work directly with partners across business, technology, and operations within DSM and the wider LSEG Group to influence decision‑making and drive timely resolution of resilience risks.
As RRM expands geographically, the Senior Analyst will also play a key role in coaching, guiding, and developing team members outside London to ensure a consistently high‑performing culture and aligned ways of working across all locations.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
- Lead the delivery of the Operational Resilience priorities, working directly with business, technology and business partners to drive consistent, high‑quality execution of resilience processes, reporting and risk activities.
- Own and lead key deliverables across the resilience portfolio, ensuring clear plans, effective execution and timely escalation of issues.
- Lead, coordinate and deliver the annual PS21/3 Self‑Assessment, including drafting submissions, engaging collaborators and supporting all related Executive and Board reporting.
- As part of the annual PS21/3 Self-Assessment exercise, partner with the business, technical and operational teams, providing guidance and challenge to ensure Regulatory compliance across both technical and non‑technical resilience domains.
- Shape, coordinate and manage the Resilience Risk Management (RRM) team’s recurring governance forums, ensuring effective decision‑making, high‑quality materials and strong collaborator engagement.
- Coach, mentor and develop junior team members, particularly within newly established locations, fostering a high‑performing culture and providing day‑to‑day support and guidance.
- Lead the delivery, tracking and monitoring of key Resilience Risk outcomes and objectives, providing a structured, evidence‑based view of progress across all stage gates and programme milestones.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics and reporting key data points for Accountable Executives (AEs) and Business Service Managers (BSMs) across Important Business Services (IBS) to strengthen the overall resilience posture.
- Maintain the overall governance framework, including Terms of Reference and the ongoing operation of governance forums that oversee LSE plc’s Operational Resilience outcomes and programme delivery.
Experience and skills required:
- Risk Management: Demonstrates a strong grasp of operational resilience principles, governance frameworks, and risk‑and‑control environments within technology, applying them effectively to assess, identify, and mitigate operational risks
- Technology: Ability to apply existing technical knowledge to understand the tools, services and requirements of Equities-based businesses
- Upskilling: Deep curiosity about technology and an ability to learn new technical processes, implementations and tooling to facilitate Resilience Risk discussions with SMEs, partners and process owners.
- Project Management: Pro-actively builds outcomes and project objectives. Organise workloads and support team members in achieving effective governance and enhanced reporting mechanisms.
- Operational Improvements: Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency while providing detailed transactions, services, and products, handles monetary assets and other resources to optimise cost effectiveness.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of Operational resilience requirements and related regulations like DORA, Critical Third-Party etc.
- Communication: Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex and / or technical information in a concise format that is audience appropriate.
- Critical thinking: Develops a broad, big-picture view and its mission to innovate through analysis of issues and trends and how these link to responsibilities, capabilities, and potential of the organisation.
- Stakeholder Management: A collaborative team player who works effectively within small teams or independently, and engages proactively with key collaborators to deliver strong, business aligned outcomes.
Candidate Profile / Key Skills
- Ability to operate independently with little guidance
- Ability to learn new skills and grow into broad roles
- Hands on experience of resilience concepts in a 1LoD environment.
- Applied knowledge of operational resilience regulatory requirements for e.g., PS21/3, DORA, Third-Party Risk, Critical Third Party CP22/3 regulation and related Operational Resiliency context.
- Adaptable and good interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Flexible work approach and be able to work to agreed timelines
- Proficient in MS Office products. Knowledge of LeanIX, IBM Blueworks, ServiceNow, Collibra is desirable.
