At Zego, we know that traditional motor insurance holds good drivers back. It’s too complicated, too expensive, and it doesn't take into account how well you actually drive.

That’s why, since 2016, we’ve been on a mission to change all of that. Our mission at Zego is to offer the lowest priced insurance for good drivers.

From van drivers and gig workers to everyday car drivers, our customers are our driving force — they’re at the heart of everything we do.

We’ve sold tens of millions of policies so far, and raised over $200 million in funding. And we’re only just getting started.

Overview of the Product Team

Product Managers at Zego are change-makers. We build and scale data-driven, impactful solutions that enable Zego to offer competitive and personalised insurance. Working in a fast-paced Agile environment, our team thrives on innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and driving measurable outcomes.

We’re building a product organisation where AI isn’t a buzzword - it’s how we work. From rapid prototyping with generative AI to using machine learning models that power our core pricing, our PMs operate at the frontier of what technology can do for insurance.

From enhancing pricing models to streamlining digital experiences, our Product team is instrumental in shaping the future of insurance.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own a product domain at Zego. You’ll lead strategy, discovery, and execution for your area - setting the quarterly direction and driving initiatives that have a direct impact on our customers and our commercial metrics.

This is not a “write tickets and hand them over” role. You’ll design experiments to validate hypotheses before committing engineering effort. You’ll build financial models to make the business case for what you ship. And you’ll use AI tools - from code-assisted prototyping to automated data analysis - to move at a pace that would have been impossible two years ago.

You’ll work at the intersection of product, data, and engineering, turning complex problems into clear strategies and shipping solutions that scale.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own your domain’s strategy: Define quarterly goals and contribute to long-term product direction. Build a clear roadmap grounded in customer insight, commercial opportunity, and technical feasibility.
  • Lead discovery end-to-end: Autonomously run complex discovery cycles - from customer research and design partnerships to opportunity solution trees and financial modelling - to find the highest-impact problems to solve.
  • Design and run experiments: Replace gut feel with evidence. Design A/B tests, prototype with speed, and use data to validate or kill ideas early. Bring a build-measure-learn cadence to everything you ship.
  • Use AI to accelerate your craft: Leverage AI tools (e.g. Claude, Gemini, Figma Make) to prototype faster, analyse data more deeply, query complex datasets autonomously, and streamline workflows across your domain. Establish AI-enabled practices that your team and peers can adopt.
  • Drive commercial impact: Build business cases with financial modelling. Understand unit economics. Set KPIs that track real business outcomes - not just feature delivery - and use data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ship at pace across cross-functional teams: Collaborate with engineering, data science, design, legal, and compliance to deliver initiatives that are technically sound, commercially viable, and compliant.
  • Translate complexity into clarity: Take ambiguous, multi-domain problems and turn them into clear, deliverable solutions - balancing long-term vision with short-term wins.
  • Raise the bar across Product: Help establish product practices, facilitate big-room planning, and bring stakeholders along the prioritisation journey. Contribute to a culture of experimentation and excellence.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • Proven product ownership: A track record of owning a product domain and delivering material business impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Experimentation mindset: Hands-on experience designing and running experiments (A/B testing, MVPs, rapid prototyping) to validate ideas before scaling them. You default to evidence over opinion.
  • Strong data and commercial fluency: Comfortable querying and analysing data from databases, Amplitude, Looker, Snowflake, or similar tools. You can build a financial model, size an opportunity, and prioritise based on expected ROI.
  • AI as a daily tool: You actively use AI to enhance your productivity - whether that’s prototyping with generative AI, writing SQL with code assistants, accelerating research synthesis, or automating repetitive tasks. You’re not waiting to be told how to use AI; you’re already doing it.
  • Technical literacy: You engage confidently with engineers on system architecture, APIs and service design. Ideally, you come from a technical background such as engineering or data science.
  • Problem-solving in complexity: Ability to untangle dependencies, navigate ambiguity, and create clarity across multiple business domains.
  • Outstanding communication: You bring stakeholders on the journey, facilitate planning across multiple teams, and know when to escalate to senior stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with ownership: Accountability, a bias for action, and the drive to figure things out independently before waiting for permission.

Our Toolkit

We believe the tools don’t make the Product Manager, but the right stack helps us move with velocity:

  • Collaboration: Notion, Whimsical, Slack, Google Meet
  • Design, Prototyping & User Testing: Figma, Figma Make, Maze
  • Data & Analytics: Snowflake, Amplitude, Hotjar, Looker
  • Thinking & Strategy: Claude Cowork
  • Automations: Claude Code, Zapier
