To provide dedicated HR support for OpenBet. Working closely with the HR Senior Director, the role is responsible for overseeing all people issues. Advising on employee relations issues, company policy and practice including performance management, grievance and disciplinary, absence management etc.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Working with guidance from the HR Senior Director to drive and develop the Human Resources agenda
  • Working in conjunction with the HR Senior Director to support change management processes. Supporting with restructure and redundancy processes as and when required
  • Develop and maintain solid understanding of the OpenBet business unit to provide advice and support on ER issues to managers at all levels
  • Working closely with the HR Operations team to ensure that all administrative processes and protocols are adhered to in all geographies
  • Providing recommendations on how processes and workflows can be improved
  • Work collaboratively with the Recruitment team and managers to ensure that resourcing plans are in place for any recruitment needs
  • Support with engagement activity and actively participating in activity, including engagement team meetings
  • To monitor and report on probation periods, reminding mangers to confirm details
  • To provide information and guidance to Managers on all stages of the performance management process
  • To meet regularly with Managers to provide proactive advisory support as required, advising Managers and employees on Company Policy and Procedure.
  • Support HR Senior Director to resolve “informal” grievance issues – escalating to formal process as appropriate. Conflict resolution where appropriate.
  • Support HR Senior Director with disciplinary and grievance cases including carrying out investigations, conduct hearings and preparation/issue of appropriate documentation.
  • Flexible Working - to provide advice and guidance in response to informal enquiries and in partnership with line managers, manage appropriately.
  • Provide information and guidance to managers and employees in respect to all leave and absence issues. Monitor employee sick leave records (both long term and ad hoc sickness).
  • Manage long-term absence cases. Liaising with Occupational Health and Health & Safety as appropriate.
  • To carry out exit interviews, identifying any trends and provide feedback.
  • You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous HR advisory experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of working in a global organisation
  • Qualified to CIPD level, or equivalent (or willingness to study)
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of key UK employment legislation

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Should be articulate with the ability to draft clear, fluent, grammatically accurate and concise written communications
  • Competent using Microsoft Office Packages specifically Work, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience and familiarity with an HR HCM system
  • Able to work with a variety of personalities and develop strong effective working relationships within the business and functions, and with other members of the HR team, in a confident and proactive manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to adapt style and approach to fit the situation
  • Client focused and flexible in their approach - should be able to respond and adapt to change
  • Motivated, with an enthusiasm for and interest in how HR must support and contribute to the business
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining appropriate service levels - prioritise workload and developing and maintaining systems
  • Strong team player – able to recognise when help is required during busy period
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Workday would be advantageous, but on-the-job training will be provided
