The role

What will you be doing?

Senior Actuarial Trainee
Location: Hybrid, 2/3 days a week, at least 1 day spent in Dorking, with other days spent in Dorking, Basingstoke or London
Unum UK are looking for a detail-oriented Student Actuary to join our team.
As a Senior Actuarial Trainee, you will rotate across our key actuarial functions:
Reporting
Risk & Capital
Systems
Pricing
You will gain broad exposure and deepen your expertise. You will lead small projects, support business decision-making with technical insight and as you continue your career, you will help train and mentor junior actuarial staff.
You will be supported on your journey to qualification by our comprehensive study scheme, alongside mentors within the business who are committed to your growth and success.

What will you bring?

What you will bring:

  • Minimum of 2 actuarial exam passed and 1+ year of Actuarial experience (willing to accept applicants from any background, Life, Pensions, GI)
  • A 2:1 or above in a relevant degree
  • Strong Excel skills, experience with R, VBA, PowerBI or Python is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to achieving qualification under the Actuarial Study Support Scheme.
