Job Title

Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant based in Basildon, will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and will provide accounting support for the EMEA region as directed by the line manager. This position will focus on US GAAP month-end reporting, local statutory reporting, and various ad hoc projects. The role will involve close collaboration with key business stakeholders to foster a highly effective and well-controlled accounting function.

What does a successful Accounting Supervisor do

• Execute the month-end close process in accordance with Fiserv's US GAAP calendar.

• Prepare annual statutory financial statements.

• Coordinate with external auditors to complete statutory audits and ensure timely filing of financial statements.

• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

• Assist the accounting department with ad hoc projects, including business acquisitions or disposals, S4 implementation, and other accounting initiatives.

• Collaborate and partner with corporate tax, VAT, and finance departments.

What you will need to have:

• Some years of post-qualification experience.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines effectively.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to partner with key stakeholders.

• A proactive individual with a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to think on their feet.

• Proficient in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, and Pivot Tables, demonstrating strong attention to detail.

What would be great to have:

• Working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS will be advantageous.

• Previous experience working with SAP/Oracle/Sage would be advantageous although not essential.
