Job Description:

Our Finance team at DTN has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant GL. You are a strategic leader responsible for overseeing financial reporting and general ledger support to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial data. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, good technical knowledge of SAAS accounting with extensive experience in financial reporting and accounting systems.

What you will be responsible for:

  • SAAS Revenue: Review the SAAS Revenue Contract, provide Accounting guidance and conclusions, and be responsible for determining how revenue is recognised.

  • Cost of Sales and Opex Accounting: To perform daily and monthly accounting activities, you must be familiar with cost accruals, prepaid assets, fixed assets, payroll, and cash application.

  • Closing Processes: Coordinate and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes ensuring adherence to strict deadlines and financial reporting requirements.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and audit teams, to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial reporting and consolidation processes.

  • Internal Controls Development: Lead the development and implementation of internal controls to enhance the accuracy and transparency of financial reporting.

  • Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis: Manage responses to ad-hoc reporting requests and special projects, presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in public accounting preferred.

  • Must have extensive SAAS Revenue Experience.

  • Proven experience managing revenue for multiple products

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting systems including Excel, SAP, Workday and other accounting ERP software preferred.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of capex accounting, performing accruals for cost of service, and the ability to perform financial reporting.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively when building and maintaining client relationships.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work in a matrixed environment.

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $82,500 AUD and $110,000 AUD. Total expected on-target earnings are between $91,000 - $121,000 AUS. DTN is a pay-for-performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity, and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market-competitive variable pay and benefits.
