Kao’s EMEA Financial Shared Service Centre (FSSC) was established in 2017 and is based in Amersfoort. The FSSC takes care of the bookkeeping and accounting of 18 Kao entities across EMEA. 


This role is to perform the duties and responsibilities of an employee on maternity leave for the period of at least one year.
 
The role:   
As GL-accountant, you will be part of the External reporting GL team. In this position, you are responsible for the audits, financial statements and CIT-filings within the DACH region and Italy. You will work closely with our auditors and external advisors, and you will interact closely with various stakeholders such as the Country Controlling Team, General Ledger but also AP, AR and FP&A. Also, you will be encouraged to improve our audit processes and work independently to reach our Finance goals.  
 
As the FSSC is continuously improving and changing, chance is you will be asked to take on other GL/Finance tasks.

What you will do: 

  • Be responsible for yearly and quarterly audits for the DACH region and Italy.
  • Prepare all the audit related documentation after year end.   
  • Prepare the bridge documentation per year end as basis for the financial statements.
  • Prepare financial statements together with our Controllers with the use of the Workiva platform.
  • Prepare all data for our CIT filings prepared by our foreign tax compilers to file local CIT returns within the DACH region and Italy.
  • Support tasks/ Continuous Improvement:
    • Work together on other tax filings and statistical surveys
    • Participate in process improvement projects
    • Other ad hoc support to the department

What you need: 

  • Fluent English skills (also preferably business fluent German language skills). 
  • Bachelor degree or higher, or work experience at this level.
  • Experience with preparing Financial Statements and Tax data in the DACH region.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in GL functions, with proven expertise in audits.
  • Strong Knowledge of GAAP/ IFRS/ HGB.
  • ERP system experience (preferably SAP).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • You have  the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • You really look forward working together with colleagues from other departments.
