Job Description:

Senior Account Director — Agribusiness

About the role

We’re looking for a PR Senior Account Director on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract for our Agribusiness and sustainability practice who can safeguard and expand key client relationships across the sector. You’ll lead a high-performing team, shape integrated communications programs, and unlock growth opportunities—while keeping delivery tight, stakeholders aligned, and outcomes measurable. You’ll help shape programs that advance sustainability outcomes alongside agribusiness priorities – an area of major growth for our clients and the sector.

This role suits a likeable, lowego leader who’s genuinely curious about the Agri ecosystem and comfortable navigating stakeholders. You’ll bring a strong network, sound counsel, and the ability to win trust quickly with boards, RDCs, peak bodies, producers, and policy makers.

What you’ll do

  • Lead & retain: Own senior relationships across a portfolio of major Agribusiness clients; set the cadence, protect satisfaction, and keep renewals on track.

  • Grow strategically: Identify whitespace within existing accounts; craft proposals and cross-practice programs that drive measurable value and margin.

  • Deliver integrated work: Orchestrate PR, stakeholder engagement, content, social, issues/crisis preparedness, and event activations—end to end.

  • Coach a capable team: Guide a team, build skills, set quality bars, and create a calm, accountable delivery culture.

  • Advise with clarity: Provide senior counsel on policy-sensitive topics, scientific/technical narratives, and sector reform; simplify complexity for executives and boards.

  • Make performance visible: Set KPIs, establish dashboards, and translate impact (reputation, engagement, behaviour change) into business outcomes.

  • Represent at industry moments: Lead thought leadership and presence at major Agriculture and sustainability events; nurture relationships that strengthen our market position.

What you’ll bring

  • Deep Agribusiness credibility: Demonstrable experience with organisations such as RDC councils/peak bodies, commodity groups, agribusiness, agtech, producer/extension networks.

  • Account leadership: 7–10+ years in communications/consulting; proven retention of large accounts and program growth.

  • Network & new ideas: A live network in Agri; instinct for where the sector is heading (sustainability, biosecurity, productivity/innovation, workforce, digital).

  • Calm delivery craft: Excellent writing, narrative framing, and issues management; able to set clear scope, budgets, and timelines.

  • Team-first mindset: Humility, curiosity, and high EQ—no ego, plenty of coaching energy.

Why join us

  • Impact at scale: Work across nationally significant portfolios, shaping the future of food, fibre and sustainability.

  • Real autonomy: Authority to shape programs, pitch growth, and set the team’s operating rhythm.

  • Great people, low drama: Supportive leaders, clear expectations, flexible working, and a high-trust culture.

What’s in it for you:

  • The opportunity to give back with dedicated volunteer leave and our whole-company event, One Day for Change

  • Career Development and Learning & Development opportunities, including access to our global online dentsu University

  • Hybrid working & real flexibility
