Senior Accessories Designer

We are seeking a highly creative and driven Senior Designer to join our Harrods Own Label team. This role focuses on the research, design and delivery of innovative collections of Accessories and Gifts, aligning with our department strategy and key deadlines.

You will be responsible for creating mood boards, developing key shapes, and establishing colour palettes that consistently build brand equity and set industry standards.

About the Role:

As the Senior Designer, you will be responsible for driving the best in class product and newness against the most efficient and slick design processes; working closely with the Buyer, Merchandiser and Technical teams, demonstrating accountability and raising expectations and quality of product.

Within the role, you will also:

  • Understand best and worst, current trade, opportunities for growth and opportunities for newness; to therefore be prepared to contribute the design element of spending open to buy funds.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the business and customer, identify and action opportunities to add value in response to this.
  • Understand the technicalities of product componentry, what will work technically to deliver the overall design aesthetic.
  • Take responsibility for own categories Key Dates, support, at all times, speed-to-market.
  • Contribute to Vendor Scorecard process and the Supplier strategy; understanding the overall risks and opportunities and how that impacts design decisions, ensuring the Design Manager is consulted.
  • Ensure all designs reflect the Own Label sustainability commitments and to drive supplier improvements at all times.
  • Be responsible for product briefings to suppliers.
  • Design a range in line with agreed commercial parameters.

About You:

To be successful within this role, we are looking for an individual with previous experience of Own Label Design in a bridge/luxury brand. You will have an understanding of the luxury retail landscape, having built an innate knowledge over the course of your experience. Within the role, you will be a strong people leader, nurturing an inclusive culture, inspire and role model collaboration and creativity.

  • Quick and efficient communication skills, strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, and be  able to bring people on our journey.

  • Able to work towards deadlines and Key Dates, remaining organised and always striving to deliver exceptional results.
