Position Overview

We are seeking a Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Specialist to manage and optimize PerkinElmer’s paid search programs across platforms including Google Ads, Bing, and other search networks. This role will be responsible for driving qualified traffic, brand visibility, and conversions through data-driven campaign execution.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, hands-on campaign management experience, and a passion for continuous performance improvement. The SEM Specialist will also work closely with the Marketing Analyst to ensure all campaigns are consistently monitored, measured, and optimized for maximum ROI.

We offer hybrid working with 3 days per week at our offices in High Wycombe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and optimize global paid search campaigns across Google Ads, Bing, and other relevant networks.
  • Conduct keyword research, audience segmentation, and competitive analysis to inform campaign strategy.
  • Create and test ad copy, landing page messaging, and extensions to improve engagement and conversion rates.
  • Manage and refine bidding strategies and budgets to achieve performance targets across campaigns.
  • Continuously monitor key performance metrics such as CPC, CTR, Quality Score, and conversion rate, identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Conduct A/B testing on ads, landing pages, and targeting to maximize ROI.
  • Collaborate with content, analytics, and digital teams to align SEM initiatives with broader marketing goals.
  • Partner closely with the Marketing Analyst to review performance data, uncover insights, and implement ongoing optimizations to improve effectiveness.
  • Stay current with search engine trends, platform updates, and emerging SEM best practices, including the ever changing Google updates such as the use of AI and intent data.
  • Prepare performance reports and insights to guide ongoing strategy and share with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing paid search campaigns (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads).
  • Google Ads certification strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving measurable performance targets (CPC, CPA, ROAS).
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills; experience with Google Analytics or other reporting platforms.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and budgets simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in analytical or life sciences a plus but not a necessity
