About the role

Join Aspire as our BDE Manager, leading and developing our team of Business Development Executives (our equivalent of SDRs). You'll build a high-performing team that creates opportunities, develops future sales talent, and fuels our continued growth.


At Aspire, our Business Development Executives are the spark that ignites our growth engine. As SDR Manager, your role is to ensure that spark becomes a consistent, scalable source of opportunity for the business.


You will lead, coach and develop a team of Business Development Executives, helping them identify, engage and qualify organisations that align with Aspire's Ideal Customer Profile. Through effective leadership, structured coaching and performance management, you will create a high-performing team that consistently delivers quality sales opportunities.


This role combines people leadership, sales coaching and operational excellence. You'll be responsible for driving activity levels, improving conversion rates, developing future sales talent and creating a culture where individuals are empowered to perform at their best.

What you will be doing


Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of Business Development Executives.
  • Deliver regular one-to-ones, call coaching, performance reviews and development conversations.
  • Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Support the onboarding and development of new team members through Aspire's Sales Academy.
  • Identify individual strengths and development areas, implementing tailored coaching plans.

Performance Management

  • Drive achievement of team KPIs and activity targets.
  • Monitor outreach activity, meeting generation and conversion metrics.
  • Ensure high standards of prospecting, qualification and customer engagement.
  • Use CRM data to track performance, identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Manage underperformance proactively and effectively.

Sales Development Strategy

  • Ensure the team is effectively targeting Aspire's Ideal Customer Profile.
  • Work with the wider Sales and Marketing team to maximise campaign effectiveness and lead quality.
  • Develop prospecting strategies that increase engagement and meeting conversion rates.
  • Share best practice and continuously refine outreach approaches.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure accurate CRM management and reporting across the team.
  • Provide regular updates and forecasting information to sales leadership.
  • Drive process consistency and adherence to agreed sales methodologies.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and succession planning within the BDE (SDR) function.

Salary

£40,000 to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) with a generous OTE

Location and Working Arrangements

You will be based at Aspire's Gateshead Quayside Head Office and support a national team of Business Development Executives, with regular travel required to Aspire offices and events as needed.


Hours of Work

Full time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday.
