SCUK Securitisation Risk Analyst

Santander Consumer Finance (SCUK) is one of the UK’s Leading Motor Finance companies providing finance to a network of car dealerships throughout the United Kingdom.

We are currently looking for a Securitisation Risk Analyst to join our Finance team to assist the Securitisation team in data production related tasks using appropriate software packages such as SAS, VBA, Python and Business Objects.

SCUK has a strategy to diversify both funding and capital from securitisation. To manage RWA (Risk Weighted Assets) SCUK is tasked alongside other group entities in finding optimal means of managing the consumption of capital, such that the business is now an established issuer of synthetic securitisation structures to de-risk credit portfolios.

This role will assist the business in managing the planning, execution, governance, and internal controls necessary to run both SRT and Funding strategies required to meet budget targets set by the Group as well as providing assistance to our JVs for their live and upcoming securitisation transactions

Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered. Some working beyond 5pm may be required on occasion.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing strategies in order to ease the reliance on EUCs within the Securitisation team. This will include automating current processes and future processes such as filling out regulatory templates in order to make the team more efficient
  • Preparation of periodic submissions around Capital Reporting and the ongoing support for all live transactions
  • Using models, provide input into ongoing construction of models and go through the verification processes for relevant internal committees for any model enhancements
  • Delegated Model ownership of the SRT Monte Carlo Risk model, which is used to predict both expected and unexpected losses and being involved in model development process, with a view to develop C# skills in order to be able to update and improve the model
  • Preparation of material used in marketing SCUK transactions, Rating Agency due diligence or roadshow materials for investor meetings
  • Assistance in (and automation of) the Credit Event Verification process
  • include producing loan level data for all transactions and the preparation of investor reports for SCUK’s Joint Ventures (Hyundai Capital and Volvo Car Financial Services)
  • Gaining an awareness legal documentation used in securitisation transactions
  • Preparing invoices for payment for each active and future securitisation transactions
  • Attending and presenting at various internal committees
  • Adhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our customers’ needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous demonstrable experience in coding – SAS/Python/C#
  • Significant strong numeracy and mathematical literacy
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Proficient in SAS (C# skills are a strong preference as well, but not essential)
  • Knowledge of Accounting & Risk (IFRS9/IRB) would be useful attributes
  • Knowledge (or interest in) of Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR)
  • Knowledge of Securitisation Regulation
  • Keen interest in financial markets
  • CFA (Level 1) is desirable
