SAP CPM Consultant – Billing, Contracts, Commercial Planning (S/4HANA)

Job Description:

Here at DXC we continue to grow our SAP practice. We are seeking an SAP Commercial Project Management (CPM) Consultant to design and deliver commercial project processes in SAP S/4HANA. This role focuses on customer-facing projects, covering billing plans, contract management, revenue recognition, and commercial planning. The consultant will ensure that project financials and contractual obligations are accurately captured, integrated, and reported within the S/4HANA landscape.

About the Role
As an SAP CPM Consultant, you will work closely with project management, finance, and sales stakeholders to configure and deliver commercial capabilities in SAP. You will manage requirements related to billing schedules, contract compliance, and commercial reporting, ensuring smooth integration with Project Systems (PS), Sales & Distribution (SD), and Finance (FI/CO). This role is key to enabling transparent project profitability and ensuring compliance with contractual terms.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops to gather business requirements on project billing, contracts, and commercial processes.

• Configure SAP CPM for billing plans (milestone/periodic), contract structures, revenue recognition, and commercial planning.

• Ensure seamless integration with PS (WBS/activities), SD (contracts, order processing), and FI/CO (invoices, settlements).

• Support WRICEF design for billing automation, contract workflows, and commercial reporting.

• Oversee data migration of project billing plans, open contracts, and commercial history.

• Prepare and execute functional test scenarios; support SIT, UAT, and cutover.

• Provide reporting frameworks for project margins, profitability, and compliance.

• Deliver documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to client project and finance teams.

Experience & Skills Required

• Functional expertise in SAP Commercial Project Management (CPM) within S/4HANA.

• Strong understanding of project billing (milestone, resource-related, periodic).

• Familiarity with customer contracts, revenue recognition (IFRS15/ASC606), and commercial planning.

• Integration awareness across PS, SD, and FI/CO.

• Experience supporting testing, reconciliations, and data migration for project financials.

• Knowledge of audit/compliance requirements for project billing and contracts.

Tools & Methodologies

• SAP S/4HANA CPM and Project Systems.

• SAP Fiori apps (Project Workspace, Billing Overview, Project Financials).

• SAP Activate methodology, Solution Manager/ChaRM, Jira or ALM for test/change.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Engineering, or IT.

• SAP CPM / PS certification desirable.

• Project management or accounting qualifications (Prince2, PMP, CIMA, ACCA) advantageous.

Stakeholder & Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills with ability to engage both Finance Controllers and Project Managers.

• Analytical and detail-oriented, ensuring accurate financial and contractual data.

• Collaborative approach, comfortable working in multi-disciplinary delivery teams.

• Ability to present complex commercial solutions in clear business terms.
