Job Description:

At Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service business at Hitachi Energy in Europe (HBUEU), Inclusion drives our culture of innovation and collaboration. We are seeking an experienced Sales Specialist to develop opportunities and positioning Hitachi Energy as partner of choice, deliver high quality and strategically focused bids, lead negotiations successful contract closure. This position involves working in collaboration across many stakeholders and will require excellent open and honest communication skills, with a strategic mind and an ability to work with a team to strict deadlines. 

Location: Birmingham (Remote) with some travel to project sites.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Bid Support, assist in preparing bids, estimates, and quotations by gathering information, formatting documents, and helping ensure all required inputs are included. Support the team in following internal processes and governance.
  • Customer Interaction, help maintain positive relationships with customers by supporting meetings, preparing materials, and responding to basic queries. Work closely with sales and bid teams to understand customer needs.
  • Business Insight, Support the team in researching customer needs and market trends. Help identify potential opportunities and contribute ideas during team discussions.
  • Marketing and Sales Support, assist in creating marketing materials, attending industry events, and collecting success stories. Help ensure plans and activities are aligned with team goals.

Your background

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (Electrical background is a plus, but not essential). 
  • Marketing and sales Experience  
  • Sales Skills: Experience selling solutions rather than products, with a focus on winning forecast opportunities and managing large customer relationships. 
  • Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of Power Quality Solutions, High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems, and experience in renewable and power utility markets. 
  • Strategic and Communication Skills: Strategic thinking, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to influence and work under pressure. 
  • Customer and Stakeholder Management: Proven skills in customer and stakeholder management, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
