Description

At Paymentology, we’re redefining what’s possible in the payments space. As the first truly global issuer-processor, we give banks and fintechs the technology and talent to launch and manage Mastercard and Visa cards at scale – across more than 60 countries.

Our advanced, multi-cloud platform delivers real-time data, unmatched scalability, and the flexibility of shared or dedicated processing instances. It’s this global reach and innovation that sets us apart.

We’re looking for a Sales Solutions Engineer to drive Paymentology’s technical and commercial success by delivering market-fit, client-aligned solutions. This role is critical to new client acquisition and existing client growth, combining deep technical expertise, regional market knowledge, and strong pre-sales capability to design scalable solutions and support long-term client success.

What you get to do:

Technical Pre-Sales

  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand client ambitions, requirements, and buying criteria, ensuring strong alignment between client needs and Paymentology’s platform.
  • Own demo preparation and execution, tailoring scenarios to client use cases and independently delivering compelling technical presentations.
  • Develop high-quality proposals that showcase Paymentology’s strengths and address client-specific requirements to maximise win rates.
  • Manage technical RFP responses, coordinating closely with Product, Technology, and Compliance teams.
  • Provide regional expertise on compliance, domestic switch integrations, and on-soil processing requirements.
  • Define standard deal structures, escalating exceptions to the Deal Committee when required.
  • Track capability gaps and analyse lost deals, presenting data-driven insights to inform product roadmap enhancements.

Solutions Design

  • Design high-level technical solutions that define integrations, workflows, and system alignment.
  • Ensure proposed solutions meet regional compliance and infrastructure requirements.
  • Identify deviations from standard solutions and secure appropriate approvals prior to implementation.
  • Deliver structured implementation plans to ensure smooth handover to the Implementation team.

Post-Sale Solutioning

  • Partner with Account Management to identify expansion opportunities across new programmes, markets, and features.
  • Provide regional guidance to help clients scale effectively and meet market-specific requirements.
  • Deliver workshops, training sessions, and enablement initiatives to support client success.
  • Resolve post-implementation technical escalations to maintain strong client relationships and satisfaction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Own and manage technical RFP processes across Product, Technology, and Compliance teams.
  • Maintain clarity on standard deal constructs and manage escalation of non-standard requirements.
  • Track capability gaps and lost opportunities, building business cases for product improvements.
  • Keep regional documentation and insights up to date to support Sales and commercial teams.
Requirements

What it takes to succeed:

  • Strong technical acumen with experience in solution architecture, integrations, and API-based platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience in technical pre-sales, including discovery sessions, RFP responses, and proposal development.
  • Deep understanding of regional compliance and market requirements within financial technology.
  • Ability to balance standardisation and customisation to deliver scalable, repeatable solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to capability gap analysis.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in solutions engineering, technical pre-sales, or solution architecture, ideally within fintech or payments.
What you can look forward to:

At Paymentology, it’s not just about building great payment technology, it’s about building a company where people feel they belong and their work matters. You’ll be part of a diverse, global team committed to making a positive impact through what we do. Whether you’re collaborating across time zones or contributing to initiatives that support local communities, you’ll find purpose in your work and the freedom to grow in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
