Job overview:


As the Sales Manager your primary responsibility will be to lead the sales team in meeting seller acquisition and sales revenue targets. You will create and manage the sales pipeline, use technology to optimise sales processes and leverage data to drive informed decision-making. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Manage a Sales Team: Directly manage a team of sales executives to achieve targets through strategic planning, performance monitoring, coaching, and collaboration, while ensuring adherence to sales processes and company OKRs. 
  • Lead Generation:
    • Establish lead generation channels such as LinkedIn to identify and connect with potential leads, establishing relationships and initiating meaningful conversations to drive sales opportunities. 
    • Launch and optimise a sales email journey using SalesForce to connect with sellers and create opportunities. 
    • Drive automation tools and AI tools to leverage mass lead generation opportunities. 
  • Sales Pipeline Development: Create and manage a comprehensive sales pipeline, tracking prospects from initial contact to closure, ensuring consistent progress towards revenue targets.
  • Sales Strategy Implementation: Create and manage execution of OnBuy’s sales strategy, optimising lead conversion rates, increasing seller acquisition, and driving revenue growth.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and nurture relationships with potential sellers, understanding their needs and pain points, and positioning OnBuy a true partner. 
  • Appointment Automation: Implement automated systems and tools to streamline the appointment booking process, ensuring efficient scheduling and reducing administrative overhead. 
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations and technology to align sales efforts with overall business objectives and provide valuable insights for product improvements. 
  • Sales Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports, providing accurate and up-to-date information on sales activities, pipeline status, and revenue projections. 
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge. 
  • Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to sales representatives, sharing best practices and equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in their roles. 
Requirements

Essential 

  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager, selling to retailers/e-tailers/B2B (preferably within the e-commerce or online marketplace industry). 
  • Strong proficiency in utilising LinkedIn for lead generation, networking, and building professional relationships. 
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing sales pipelines, consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets. 
  • Proficient in using Salesforce, sales automation tools, and appointment scheduling software. 
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to drive informed decision-making and optimise sales strategies. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong drive to succeed in a fast-paced, target-driven environment. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and motivate others towards achieving common goals. 
  • Proven experience in recruiting, leading, and managing high-performing sales teams to achieve business growth and exceed targets. 

Desirable 

  • Knowledge of e-commerce trends, online marketplaces, and a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences. 
Benefits

The salary on offer for this role is up to £45,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
